Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevie Faith.
Hi Stevie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I got into music because I sprained my ankle while skateboarding during a summer & I needed something to do while being bed ridden for a month straight. I’ve been a music nerd since a literal child & had talks with my mom wanting to get into music creating prior the incident, she felt it was the perfect time for me to start when it happened & took me to guitar center to buy me equipment to help start my journey. My older brother Akhari Young taught me how to create my first beat, I ended up learning extremely fast to the point in less than a year I decided to peruse music as a career & ever since that day I never looked back.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My personal life was falling apart during the start up stage in my career & it was hard to navigate/stay creative in that time period. Having major family issues, dealing with death of loved ones, being homeless, and relationship problems which all caused me to be severely depressed for many years which led me to make terrible decisions & delayed my growth as an artist. Thankfully I am a fast learner so within the last year I’ve been able to make up for lost time.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a Music Artist, Rapper, Producer, Song Writer, and Musician. I am known for being a hybrid as I am amazing in everything I do. I am most proud of my debut project that I released on April 3rd 2025 [VIOLET IN THE SKY]. I spent 5 years creating this [EP]. I got to capture myself during the darkest time of my life & create something beautiful out of my experiences. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I am a brown music artist creating alternative Hip Hop music. As brown people, we do not have a Tyler, The Creator, Q-Tips, Andre 3000s & Big Bois, and I am here to fill that void for us.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My mom & grandmas for always embracing my creative endeavors & letting me create freely without judgement which gave me the confidence that I have today.
My Father & Uncle for introducing me to the Hip Hop & Skateboarding culture which I hold both so dearly & are the reasons why I’m such a music nerd.
My older brother Akhari Young, he was the most important mentor I’ve ever had. This is who taught me almost everything I literally know today.
