Today we’d like to introduce you to Shane Sato.
Hi Shane, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got my first DJ controller in the Summer of 2018. I started off DJing for fun in my college dorm and slowly started to DJ actual events. In 2019, I DJed my first party ever on New Year’s Eve, and that’s when I realized that this is something I want to pursue. I started DJing frat parties, clubs, and bars and realized that I wanted to expand my reach and that’s when I started making a name for myself and started posting videos of me DJing on social media. In 2023 I started taking it more seriously and that’s when I started my own LLC for my business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been thankful to have a pretty smooth road since I started DJing. I’ve been blessed to have a good support system and I’ve met some really cool people throughout the years.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Professional DJ located in Southern California and I specialize in Weddings, Corporate Events, and Private Parties. Music-wise I specialize in everything, from Hip-hop/RnB to Latin to House/EDM. One thing I am very proud of is knowing that people trust me to DJ their special events. It takes a lot of trust to have someone DJ your Wedding, and to be that person is something that I take pride in. The thing that separates me from others is my ability to adapt and improvise to any crowd and make sure that everyone has a good time. No matter what genre it is, I’ll make sure I play something for everyone.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I feel like the most important characteristic is definitely confidence. If you aren’t confident in the work you put out, then you can’t expect to go far. It can be intimidating but as soon as I was fully confident and trusting of myself, I was able to take my work to the next level.
