Rising Stars: Meet Shaefields

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaefields.

Hi Shaefields, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Having developed as a singer and a poetry writer initially, I am also an emcee. I create R&B, Pop, and Hip-Hop and oftentimes combine them all together like a female version of Drake. While writing music at the age of six, I started performing at 14 on BET’s Live Gospel show, and I’ve been rockin’ stages ever since.

While being linked to many big names in the game, My gift of lyrical content gained me the respect to write at some of the best studios in Los Angeles. In 2009, I independently released my first single “Free” and gained a nice following overseas in the Netherlands as it received major radio play. In 2012, I released a project called “High Heels and Chuck T’s” and although it was released underground, it received the backing and support of producer Dae One and legendary West Coast Veteran King T.

After taking a hiatus from the business to focus on raising my family, I’m coming with a new passion for music and a new vision for my career. In January of 2016, I released an EP titled HeavyHitters (available on iTunes, Bandcamp and Spotify) with production by Batez and isickonthemix. In addition to this collaboration, I dropped numerous singles, including “Can We Talk?’ produced by Aceman, which is available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, and all social platforms.

January 2024 I am releasing an EP titled “What Cha Say…” and two albums after that. I am currently working on many projects, including an EP and TV/film projects with Deathrow Records.

I have worked with the likes of King T, J. Stone, Too Short, Slip Capone, Demrick, and other artists in the industry. It is no secret that I am respected by some of the biggest names in the game.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Oh no. Definitely not. It has been extremely tough, especially balancing being a single mother and a full-time worker, but I just can’t leave music alone.

What matters most to you?
Other than being the best mother/teacher to my children, I want to inspire people to love themselves, know their worth, never give up and to continue to elevate.
