Rising Stars: Meet Rochelle Morales of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rochelle Morales

Hi Rochelle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi!
My name is Rochelle Morales and I’m originally from Las Vegas. I jumped right into the beauty industry straight out of high school. Started out as a makeup artist. First practicing on myself then on other people. Got really into fantasy/sci-fi fx . Learned a bit of sculpting and how to create my own prosthetic peices. Got my aesthetician license in 2013.Worked tons of weddings, different fashion shows , commercials, Vegas magazine and different salons all over the strip. Once I started working on different photoshoots, that’s where my passion for hair blossomed. Went back to school and got my cosmetology license in 2015.
Finally the time came where I interviewed to work in the hair & makeup department for the cirque du soleil show KA. But unfortunately I was self taught and didn’t have a theater background. When one door closes another opens right? I took this opportunity to finally leave las vegas and move to Los Angeles at 27. Living in LA is not cheap! So I decided to bartend and serve in the food &beverage till I found my way back into the beauty industry. When Covid hit , that’s when I decided to go all in! No more food & beverage. But I was rusty from being out of the hair and makeup game for 5yrs so I decided to assist in salons and for different stylists . Once the timing was right I figured out exactly where I wanted to be. And that’s what landed me in Hollywood Salon Republic! There’s only up from here. I’m not only working on my regulars but also getting back into print and production work. Hopefully by sharing my story it can open more doors for me . Thank you for taking the time to read it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No it has not! I also struggled with alcohol addiction and depression. But with recovery work and a solid support system I made it out!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a hairstylist and makeup artist. I specialize in transformational color. Color correction.
I offer full hair color services. Long cuts. Tape-in , sew in weft and ktip extensions .
Full face makeup from natural to full glam! Fun Halloween looks as well.
I love getting creative, so if you’re a musician needing some creative looks for a music video . Or a director needing some hair or makeup, I’m your girl!
One thing I’m very proud of myself for, is being able to adapt to different situations. Finding solutions to problems. Being able to make adjustments quickly.
And I’m big on energy an lightening up mood the when things get tense. Life’s too short, we gotta laugh every once awhile.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Being able to adapt to changes . And if you’re not happy with something , stay true to yourself and make the changes you need to get to where you want to be in life.
