Rising Stars: Meet Roberto Ordóñez Hoyo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberto Ordóñez Hoyo.

Hi Roberto, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today. 
I started taking photos when I was 18 years old with my mom in México City. I always carried my camera everywhere, started doing art shows in New York around 2010, also published on several magazines such as Time Out, Metro, Latino Show magazine, etc. I’m also a SAG AFTRA actor, I started acting around 2012, in films TV shows and commercials. 

I love to be in front and behind of the camera. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I ran away from home, so I wasn’t a USA citizen, not until 2014 when I fell in love with my husband, and we got married and got my green card. Now 2 years USA citizen. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love photography because you can immortalize something forever. I’m fascinated by different things: people with tattoos or colored hair, dogs, and fashion. 

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Traveling to Texas with my family and driving my bicycle with my brothers to go to the local swimming pool to have a good time. Also going to the mall all day and watching a movie at the mall with my family.
