Rising Stars: Meet Paula Labaredas of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paula Labaredas.

Hi Paula, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was born in Portugal and moved to the U.S. with my family when I was two, and I grew up in Connecticut. From an early age, I was drawn to storytelling—I was involved in the choir, performed in school plays, and produced a segment on teenage pregnancy for a local broadcast channel in high school. In college, I continued pursuing that passion through theater, while majoring in Social Work. Through my Social Work internship, I got to work with individuals facing substance abuse, homelessness, and AIDS. After College, I made the decision to fully commit to acting and moved to New York City. I spent three years there working in theater, independent films, and an international soap opera. I then transitioned to Los Angeles, where I’ve continued building my career in film and television.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Like many actors, there have been a lot of ups and downs-rejection, uncertainty, and moments where I really had to persevere. It can be exhausting and discouraging at times because you give 110% and don’t always see results. I’ve learned how important it is to step away sometimes so I can recharge, and reconnect with that inner fire. This industry can really wear you down if you let it. You have to stay positive, open to new opportunities, and not become jaded.

For me, whenever I go back to the craft and the work itself, that’s when the spark comes back—that inspiration, creativity, and drive to create again. I also think there’s something really fulfilling about challenging yourself as an artist and accomplishing something you’re proud of. It reminds you why you wanted to do this in the first place, and I think it’s important to never lose sight of that.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an actress, and creative who is very passionate about meaningful, emotionally driven storytelling. I’m drawn to roles with vulnerability, depth, strength, and transformation—characters people emotionally connect to and open their hearts to.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in film, television, independent projects, and modeling. I love creating work that leaves an impact.

I truly believe in the power of acting and the arts to inspire, heal, and transform people’s lives. Storytelling can bring comfort, hope, understanding, and connection, and I feel art has the ability to help heal humanity.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Well, I like to focus on good luck because that’s the energy I want to attract into my life. I think luck happens when preparation and opportunity come together at the right time, and you’re ready to step into it.
