Rising Stars: Meet Pat Francis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pat Francis.

Hi Pat, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started the Rock Solid Podcast 11 years ago in July 2011 after I was invited to join a podcast network. At the time I had no idea what my show would be about until it was suggested to me that I LOVE music… duh! A no-brainer and the show is now in its 12th year with 674 episodes and over 4.6 million downloads worldwide!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been somewhat smooth. I had a built-in audience from my appearances on other podcasts and I have been able to grow my audience and interview amazing guests such as Brian Johnson of AC/DC, Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Melissa Etheridge, Sammy Hagar, Ann & Nancy Wilson of Heart, David Wild, Alexi Lalas, Shaun Cassidy, Lisa Loeb and many, many more!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Host, Producer and Creator of the Rock Solid Podcast which is the comedy podcast for all things music both new and classic. I am proud of the fact that after all these years, I have never missed a show. I have consistently released a podcast episode every Thursday since July 2011. I feel I am different from other music podcasts because I refuse to ask the questions that the artists have heard a million times and I am not afraid to ask questions as a fan. I am also proud that the show now has a great reputation and I have continued to feature top musical guests.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Because the listeners only hear the fun when they listen to the show, they might not realize how much work it takes to schedule, record, produce and upload a podcast episode to the world. It has gotten easier over the years but I still take this comedy podcast very seriously.
