Rising Stars: Meet Olivia and Elvira of Stringys

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olivia and Elvira of Stringys.

Hi Olivia and Elvira, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The best businesses launch at turning point realizations. For us, that realization was something that’s ALWAYS been a problem with no solution… VISIBLE PANTY LINES. If you know, you know, and turns out all women agreed. A fashion solution for VPL has been lacking from the market for a long time. We set out to create the pasties equivalent for your vagina except cute 😉 comfy, and flattering. It was not an easy product to develop.. you’d never know from looking at it, and that’s by design, but it took a year of trials and errors.. one invention after the other.. and developing custom. machines to get to where we are now. The most seamless and seen less product that exists. Being a women owned business, made for women – designed by women, we were really able to hone in on what we needed/ expected from the perfect undergarment. Stringys represents fashion and function with no compromises so you can feel comfortable and confident in any situation.. whatever you want to wear/ however you want to express yourself.. Stringys has you covered. That’s our promise. Being founded by a model and personal trainer – we quickly saw how needed our product was in all worlds. Whether you’re on set shooting swim or lingerie, or wearing something that typically calls for a commando situation… UGH, or if you’re putting on your favorite active set and panty lines are stealing the show.. these are the moments we created Stringys for, but it didn’t take long, for red carpets, movie sets, the Olympics, the ballet etc. etc. to come calling! That’s when we knew how impactful this product could be across the board. Stringys is a real girls girl, we love the gossip, that’s why we leaned so heavily into word of mouth in the beginning. After sending some promo boxes to our friends, so many celebrity stylists reached out because they had been feeling the panty line problems in a big way! Stringys filled a gap in the market that everyone needed, and that’s why it was able to soar so quickly.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
HAHA. We just laughed at that. We wouldn’t say smooth necessarily. It’s been a bumpy, winding road, but being able to do it together has made all the difference. Learning to manufacture an invention is a very humbling experience, and one that not many people stick around for. We’ve been broken up with and straight up turned down by more factories than we want to admit.. we’ve knocked on many doors.. took business classes… called in every favor we could. It’s been a lot of sleepless nights and laughing through the chaos, but it makes the whole experience and journey so fulfilling. When we started this company we thought OMG, we’re geniuses. How does this not exist????? But we quickly realized why it didn’t. It’s impossible to make without developing all custom parts. Manufacturing has been the hardest and biggest problem of our entire business, let alone.. everyone knows that being an entrepreneur means that you have to excel in 10 jobs you’ve never done before in your life.

What were you like growing up?
We joke that we came out of the womb entrepreneurs. We’re both extremely adventurous, passionate, and dedicated. Olivia grew up in Huntington Beach, California, and Elvira grew up in Falun, Sweden. but even a world apart, we share a lot of similarities that drew us together. In the ways that we’re different, we’ve found the perfect balance for an unstoppable team. Elvira is very assertive and organized, and Olivia has a vision for the brand, and excels in creativity. Our interests have always been fashion, business, and combining the two.
