Today we’d like to introduce you to Nesha Foster.
Hi Nesha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Entrepreneurship Journey
My journey into entrepreneurship started with a simple vision: to create something meaningful and build a better future for myself and my family. Growing up in Saint Louis, MO taught me the value of resilience, hard work, and believing in your potential even when the path isn’t always clear.
That mindset led me to create Profusion MS, a business focused on providing essential services like drug screening, fingerprinting, and pre-employment support. I saw an opportunity to help people take the next step in their careers while also building something of my own.
Entrepreneurship hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has helped me grow stronger, more focused, and more determined. Today, I continue expanding my vision, learning, and building a business that represents independence, opportunity, and legacy.
For me, entrepreneurship is more than business — it’s about creating impact and building something that lasts.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Learning to Pivot
Like many entrepreneurs, my journey wasn’t a straight path to success. Before finding the right direction, I explored multiple business ideas, some that worked for a moment and others that didn’t work at all. Those early experiences taught me one of the most valuable lessons in entrepreneurship: knowing when to pivot.
Failure wasn’t the end—it was feedback. Each setback showed me what the market needed, what my strengths were, and where I could create real value. There were moments of doubt, financial pressure, and long nights questioning if the vision would truly come together.
But every challenge sharpened my focus. Instead of giving up, I adjusted, learned, and kept moving forward. Those struggles didn’t stop my journey—they prepared me for the business I’m building today.
Entrepreneurship has taught me that success isn’t about never failing. It’s about having the resilience to keep evolving until the right opportunity meets your persistence.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Today, I serve as the Director of Operations at Profusion MS, where I oversee daily operations, client services, and business development. My role requires both leadership and attention to detail, ensuring every client interaction is professional, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
Profusion MS provides professional employment screening services including drug testing (urine, hair, and nail), pre-employment and post-employment screenings, DOT and non-DOT testing, court-ordered testing, fingerprint live scan services, I-9 verification, digital photos, and background checks. Our mission is to support employers, individuals, and organizations by providing accurate, reliable, and confidential services that help people move forward in their careers and meet important compliance requirements.
One of my most proud moments in business was seeing the vision come to life—watching clients walk through the door, trusting our services, and realizing that something I built was truly helping people start new jobs and new chapters in their lives. That moment confirmed that every risk, pivot, and challenge along the way had a purpose.
What sets Profusion MS apart is our commitment to professionalism, efficiency, and personal service. We understand that many of our clients are taking an important step—whether it’s starting a new job, meeting legal requirements, or completing necessary screenings. Our goal is to make that process smooth, respectful, and reliable every time.
At the heart of it all, Profusion MS isn’t just a service provider. It’s a business built on trust, opportunity, and helping people move forward.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
If I could give advice to someone beginning their entrepreneurial journey, it would be simple: stay teachable. No matter how much confidence you have in your vision, there is always something new to learn. Being open to guidance, feedback, and new information can save you time, money, and unnecessary mistakes.
Second, do your research. Understanding your industry, your market, and the real needs of your customers is essential. Preparation allows you to move with intention rather than guessing your way through business decisions.
Finally, connect with your local community. Building relationships with other local business owners, professionals, and organizations can open doors you didn’t even know existed. Networking locally creates support, collaboration, and opportunities that help your business grow.
