Rising Stars: Meet Murray SawChuck of Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Murray SawChuck.

Hi Murray, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have been doing Magic and Comedy for 45 years originally from Vancouver, B.C. – Canada. I was inducted into the Magic Hall Of Fame this year which was an amazing honor that surprised me. I have headlined on the Las Vegas Strip for 23 years and next year have 3 comedy specials coming out along with a worldwide tour.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I started at the age of 7 and there have been bumps, turns, ups and down in my road to being a successful comedy magician. Sometimes in life you have to take 2 steps back to go 3 forward.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am very proud of the brand and that I have created. It’s very Dennis The Menace where comedy and magic collide! I try to set myself apart from everyone as I don’t take myself to seriously and I love to laugh, so combining magic and comedy is the perfect combination of entertainment for me.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the youtube / facebook magician changing as ANYONE can watch stuff on line be real or not especially with AI… so when you can sit in a theatre and see it in real time and know there is no AI or filters it really is a different experience. It’s like wathcing a Disney movie or actually going to Disneyland and seeing the movies come to life.
