Rising Stars: Meet Minerva Madrigal of Montebello

Today we’d like to introduce you to Minerva Madrigal.

Hi Minerva , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I apprenticed and worked at a shop in pico rivera for about 3 years. Then decided to move to montebello and open a private studio where i am able to create freely. I enjoy tattooing a lot of cartoons, y2k tribal, black work designs. Betty boop mashups have been the most popular design that i’ve put out. i’m 6-7 years into tattooing and hope to keep tattooing for more years to come.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When i started apprenticing i was a student at CSULB and worked at bed bath and beyond part time. I worked 7 days a week and ran on 4 hours of sleep. The journey was not easy but i put in a lot of hard work. where i feel it has paid off. The economy hasn’t been the greatest but i like to remain positive ams will push through.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in cartoon work mostly, but i can do anime, new school, black work, y2k tribal. I do a lot of betty boop mashups, I think i have a unique concepts that i mash up with betty boop that sets me apart from others.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I have a strong work ethic and i feel like it has contributed to my success. I dedicate a lot of time to tattooing and that has helped me go far.
