Rising Stars: Meet Marina “Mari” Gonzalez of Phoenix, AZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marina “Mari” Gonzalez

Mari, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I immigrated to the US with my family in the late ’80s as a toddler, and from an early age, I felt a unique energy pulling me toward the esoteric, astrology, and the universe’s secrets. Raised in a religious household that disapproved of such interests, I kept them hidden. My childhood was tough, steering me toward drugs and experiences no young woman should endure. Going to drug rehab twice became my turning point. There, I discovered my calling to serve and help others. In those lonely moments, my grandma began visiting me in dreams and often time I could hear her voice guiding me. I brushed it off as imagination, but I realize now it’s always been my connection to my ancestors that have been guiding me. My daughter’s birth sparked a serious dive into astrology. I seeked astrology as a way of connecting more deeply to my daughter.

I started off with Western Astrology, but after years it began to feel surface-level, and I craved deeper spiritual truths. Then I found Vedic Astrology which really spoke to my soul. For over 11 years, I’ve immersed myself in Vedic Astrology. During that time, I had a profound spiritual awakening that opened up my psychic abilities. I was seeing spirit apparitions, sensing and predicting death — it scared and overwhelmed me. A local brujo calmed my fears, explaining this was my spirit awakening, tested by challenges to prepare me for this path. He said if I honed my gifts, I would be able to guide others. Now, I help my community uncover their soul’s truths and find their way back to themselves. It’s an honor to live out the calling I’ve always felt. I use tools like Vedic Astrology, my psychic abilities, tarot, magic rituals, SRT, Reiki and I’m now beginning the path of spiritual and mindset coaching.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t been smooth. Most true spiritual workers would agree our lives are riddled with challenges. It’s the universe way of testing us to ensure we are truly ready to walk in this path. For me, drug addiction hit hard after my grandma passed; it was my way of coping, but through that I gained so much inner strength and an awareness that my calling was to help others. Young motherhood was difficult, but one of its many blessings was that it lead me to astrology. My spiritual awakening, was one of the hardest things I’ve faced. I felt lost, trapped in a dark void, looking for a path that went nowhere. It wasn’t until I dove into my shadow, owning my flaws instead of pointing fingers that I reclaimed my power. Facing yourself stings; the ego has a way of fighting to deflect the pain of admitting its own fault. But once you own it all, you can begin to heal it, change it, release it, and move forward stronger than before. It’s been a journey that I wouldn’t change. It’s taught me to trust and not to question how thing occur because there is always a divine plan.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in psychic tarot readings. I use my own God given gifts to connect to the higher realms of consciousness to give guidance to my community.

I also practice Vedic Astrology which originated 5,000 years ago in India. It is the original astrology because it stems from the RigVedas which are the most ancient texts ever found. These texts are also where Yoga and Ayurveda originate from.

I’m an Usui Reiki Ryoho Master / Teacher. Reiki is a Japanese healing technique which means “Higher Power Life Force Energy” and it is channeled through the hands. It aids in healing every aspect of the bodies – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Spirit Release Therapy (SRT) which is a shamanic & clinical treatment that originated in Brazil. It’s sometimes used on patients who appear to be ‘possessed’ by a harmful spirit entity. SRT is able to clear the physical & energy field of energetic attachments. This is done by two people, one being the medium who clears, and the other is the facilitator who is there ensuring everyone’s safety.

I’m also soon going to be incorporating spiritual and mindset coaching to my offerings because I feel it’s time to create an uprising of people who are truly empowered. We live in a world that is structured to keep us asleep and disempower us from our own divinity and through my new school, the Divinity Within Institute, my goal is to flip the script and create powerful change in peoples lives.

What I’m most proud of is also the thing that sets me apart from others which is that I’m truly ancestor lead. My ancestors have been working through me long before I knew it, they’ve been guiding me, their presence is woven into my life. Through talks with my family elders, I learned my ancestors were prophets and healers. They use to predict world events and they use to heal bodies with herbs and hands. I look at my life now and I too accurately predicting world events and heal with my hands. I’m proud that I am a testament of their power. They’ve always been leading me to my true path and I’m honored to carry their legacy forward.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
If I could give one message to your readers is to never ignore your intuition. There is a quiet voice always guiding us, but it’s up to us to slow down and connect to it. Sometimes it comes through as a gut feeling, an inner knowing or through signs/omens. Those quiet nudges is the universe and our ancestors guiding us. Trust that they’ll never lead you in the wrong direction. Lastly, I want to say that no matter how difficult the path you are walking might be, trust that it is preparing you for a victory. Like diamonds, we too go through adversity and it’s painful, but the outcome is a beautiful radiant soul. So never forget to love yourself because you deserve it!
