Rising Stars: Meet Lizzy Gonzalez of Los Angeles, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzy Gonzalez.

Hi Lizzy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a small town of the Bay Area, there wasn’t a lot to do so the biggest form of entertainment for me were the movies. Going to the theater to watch a new release was such a huge deal for my family and I especially around the holidays, it was an event.

I loved movies so much I went to film school when I was in college and learned the ins and outs of filmmaking, I wanted to be a director but enjoyed more of the photography side of production as there was much less pressure. Directors deal with a lot, I have so much respect for them. When I moved to Los Angeles, I was eventually hired on numerous productions like music videos, tours, or concerts/festivals as a photographer and worked at a record label for many years as part of their social media team.

When the Pandemic hit, my field wasn’t really needed for a while since no one was able to go out. Luckily I had been able to pay my bills assisting friends I’ve met over the years and helping them out with whatever they needed. I have always been so grateful for them keeping my lights on.

On an off day I bought tickets to an event at Warner Bros and was invited back to watch an advanced screening of Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice. I was SO excited I wanted to make the best of it, I dressed up and documented my entire day. I had so much fun, and felt like a kid at Disneyland. That eventually lead to more invites for other events and I was hooked.

I had never imagined where that one day would take me. I have been lucky enough to work with the studios that I’ve enjoyed all my life and become an ambassador for AMC Theaters and IMAX. I let my creativity out with videos and photos and just soak everything in. I have even gone viral a few times most notably a video I did of The Matrix at COSM with almost 4 million views.

I still have alot of work to do but I am excited to grow and see what the future will hold.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It really is a lot of work but I am having fun coming up with new ideas every event whether for a video or what I will wear. It’s worth it in the end though, I hope to continue working with everyone I’ve met along the way and new ones as well!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a Content Creator for movies and I put a lot of thought into every event I attend. I want to make it special for myself and everyone. My proudest achievement so far is the outfit I created for the Five Night’s At Freddy’s 2 Premiere. For 3 days during Thanksgiving break, I painted and rhinestoned an outfit based off the character Balloon Boy and it was a huge hit. People were stopping me left and right. Not bad for something I put together in my mom’s kitchen.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I was always a creative kid growing up. One of my favorite memories however is picking up my dad’s cam corder and making my own little movies with toys I had around the house or bugging my cousins to be in it during the holidays. We would then watch what I made downstairs as a family and just laugh at all the chaos I would capture on camera.
