Today we’d like to introduce you to Kevin Spiro
Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Born and raised in Orange County near the ocean, I’ve always been drawn to a sense of serenity and calmness. Growing up around the coast gave me a natural appreciation for freedom and space — it shaped how I approach creativity, business, and life. I’ve been lucky to have supportive parents and friends around me from the start, always encouraging me to chase what inspires me.
From a young age, I was wired for movement and competition — skiing, soccer, karate, gymnastics, pole vaulting, and snowboarding, which became my best sport. I’ve always thrived on adrenaline — mountain biking, jet skiing, even car drifting by my late teens.
Music was always there too. I learned piano, guitar, bass, drums, and joined choir early on. After high school and two years of community college, I jumped into the local music scene — launching a nightclub around 2004-2005 and booking international talent in OC’s electronic scene. That led to event production — lighting, sound, staging, and LED walls for dance events and corporate shows.
Eventually, I graduated from ICON Collective in 2012, focusing on music production, recording, and songwriting. From there, I carved out my lane — ghostwriting for artists, producing, and earning support slots on Armnhmr and Mitis’ tours, along with shows for Insomniac and Lost in Dreams. The stage was one of the only places that gave me the same rush of adrenaline I chased in sports — the energy, the pressure, the connection with a crowd.
Alongside music, I’ve worked in real estate with my family for over 10 years — learning the business hands-on. I’ve been a licensed agent for the last couple of years and am now close to earning my broker’s license. When COVID hit and the music scene stopped, I doubled down on real estate to support myself — pushing harder into the industry, helping clients, and growing my knowledge.
Interestingly, that time made me fall more in love with music than ever — but after a car accident and injuries in late 2021, my focus shifted. Now, I’m working toward studio production and writing instead of live shows — blending creativity with stability as I build forward in both music and real estate.
Looking back, I think living such a dynamic lifestyle has kept me genuinely happy — always chasing that sense of freedom that first drew me to the ocean, sports, music, and entrepreneurship. It’s that balance that keeps me motivated and moving forward.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s definitely been a winding road — full of pivots, challenges, and moments where I had to completely shift gears. From launching my own nightclub to dealing with the sudden stop of the music industry during COVID, to recovering from a car accident that forced me to slow down physically — none of it’s been easy. But every challenge pushed me to adapt, build new skills, and find new lanes to grow in.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’ve always been someone who wears a few hats, but at the core of what I do — I specialize in real estate, creative production, and project management. I’ve been working in real estate for over a decade, licensed for a few years now, and close to completing my broker’s license. I handle everything from residential sales and leasing to property management — and what I’m most proud of is the level of personal care and hustle I bring to every client I work with.
What sets me apart is my diverse background — coming from the music industry, where I spent years producing, ghostwriting, performing, and managing large-scale events. That experience taught me how to handle high-pressure situations, think creatively, and stay detail-oriented. I’m used to working behind the scenes to make things seamless — whether it’s a music festival, a recording session, or a complex real estate deal.
I’m most proud of my ability to adapt and thrive across industries — I’ve built businesses, played for sold out crowds as a DJ, managed major production projects, and carved out a career in real estate. I think that balance between creative vision and practical execution is what really sets me apart. I know how to see the big picture, but I’m hands-on when it comes to getting things done. That’s what my clients and peers know me for — someone who shows up, solves problems, and follows through.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is easily spending time out on the water or up in the snow areas.
