Rising Stars: Meet Gerard Feliciano of Lincoln, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerard Feliciano

Hi Gerard, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began in my early 20s, I’ve always had a passion in Videography, I began creating videos just for fun. I would never post any of my work because I wasn’t sure it was ready for social media. After about a year of just creating, I put the camera down to take care of my 2 kids. At that time Video/Photography wasn’t paying the bills & had to focus on providing for my family. I’m now 35 years old & financially stable & thought this was the time to pick back up where I left off. I bought myself a camera & started to just create. I found myself blessed with an oppurtunity to volunteer for a Technology conference (Augmented World Expo) & thought it would be fun to create some “Engagement Reels” for my page; to show my experience & showcase the newest technologies in the VR/AR Industry. I must of done something right because a Global Ambassador from Meta Center Global (Tech Conference in Orlando) saw my work & invited me to spearhead their entire Social Media presence. Once I finished up in Orlando, Augmented World Expo had invited me back, but this time to work directly with their Social Media/Marketing team to create Reels for their Socials.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. As much as I loved the invitations back to the technology conferences & receiving exposure for my work, none of it were paid jobs. I still had to maintain my 9-5 in the Hospital in order to finance my goals/dreams. One of the hardest things is to finance a dream.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I known by most of my colleagues as a Content Creator in the VR/AR Field, I create Video Edits showcasing Virtual Reality experiences in Meta’s Metaverse; Horizon Worlds. But I’ve recently transitioned into the world of Media, covering the newest technologies in the VR/AR industry at these technology conferences.
