Rising Stars: Meet Geo Louis of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Geo Louis

Hi Geo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My journey into the world of bar and beverage design was a natural evolution of my background in events and hospitality. Before launching Bartelier, I spent years coordinating events, curating experiences, and developing a deep appreciation for how a well-crafted cocktail can elevate a gathering. I was always drawn to the intersection of design, hospitality, and storytelling, and I saw an opportunity to merge those worlds in a way that went beyond just serving drinks.

I started Bartelier because I wanted to create not just cocktails, but moments—where the bar isn’t just an afterthought but an integral part of the experience. We focus on craft cocktails, bar design, and experiential activations that bring people together in a way that feels both elevated and effortless. Early on, I realized that the event space was shifting—people wanted more than just a standard bar setup; they wanted bespoke, intentional beverage experiences that felt tailored and immersive. That’s where Bartelier comes in.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Haha, absolutely not. We’ve had the privilege of working at some truly exceptional (but also wildly challenging) locations. A few years ago, we were producing one of our biggest events at the time out in Malibu Canyon, and during load-in for what was a massive three-day event, I broke my foot. Of course, we had medics on site, and I was in good hands, but I still powered through all three days of the event. I think for me, the biggest challenges have always been the ones that catch me off guard—the things you can’t necessarily plan for.

That said, I’ve been really lucky to work with some incredible people who always show up in major ways when challenges arise. A few years ago, after an event in New York, I actually went into cardiac arrest, which, as it turned out, was the result of a genetic deficiency. Luckily, I had a fantastic doctor who worked with me over the course of a year to pinpoint the issue, and now I’m in a really good place.

So, not to make it sound like a soap opera—haha—but those were definitely some of the biggest hurdles over the past few years. At the end of the day, every challenge has reinforced why I love this industry: it’s fast-paced, unpredictable, and full of people who rise to the occasion, no matter what gets thrown their way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Bartelier, we specialize in creating high-design bar experiences that go beyond just serving drinks. Our focus is on craft cocktails, immersive bar design, and experiential activations for events, brand launches, and weddings. We take a holistic approach to the bar—considering not just what’s in the glass but how it’s served, how it fits into the space, and how it enhances the overall experience.

We’re known for bringing a fresh, design-forward perspective to beverage service. Whether it’s branding cocktails, crafting signature drinks with unexpected ingredients like our Cocktail Grade Matcha, or curating full bar programs that feel as intentional as the rest of an event’s design, we want every element to feel elevated and effortless.

One of the things I’m most proud of is our ability to push boundaries in the event space. We’ve worked with some incredible clients to create bars that don’t just blend into the background—they become a moment. Seeing guests interact over our cocktails, watching people get excited over an experience we’ve contributed to—those moments are everything.

What sets us apart? A deep love for the craft, hospitality, attention to detail, and an understanding that a great bar is more than just the drinks—it’s about the entire experience. We bring a balance of creativity and execution, so every event feels personal, seamless, and unforgettable.

What makes you happy?
Seeing guests fully immersed in the experience makes me happy. Sometimes, we’ve worked on a project for a year, and watching it go from a sketch to something real is incredibly rewarding. With Bartelier I love the creative process of bringing a concept to life—whether it’s designing a bar that feels like an extension of the event, developing cocktails with clients, or curating an experience that tells a story. The details matter to me, and seeing them come together in a way that feels effortless yet intentional is always fulfilling.

On a more personal level, collaborating with great people brings me joy. I’ve been lucky to work with some incredibly talented, creative, and hard-working individuals who bring their own energy and passion to the table. And of course… a really good cocktail, enjoyed in great company, never hurts either. Haha.
