Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynde Daniels.
Cynde, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I have always had a love for Jewelry. It all started many years ago when I was a child and I would play with all of my grandmother’s jewelry. I was that little girl who wouldn’t leave the house unless I was wearing 10 necklaces, five bracelets, and clip-on earrings. I grew up and went to school for fashion in New York, but it wasn’t until I moved to Los Angeles, California, that I became a designer (while pregnant with my second daughter) and started Cynde’s Jewels. Over the past two decades, I have been designing and selling my wear, using the highest quality materials, all while keeping my pieces affordable.
I literally started selling my first pieces out of the trunk of my car at my older daughter’s preschool. I needed something to take my mind off of my pregnancy, that made me severely nauseated for nine months. And that’s where it all started. Then I did a few home parties at friends’ houses and started selling at our local preschool carnivals. I began to work with local philanthropy organizations, selling at their chapter luncheons and their holiday boutiques. I thought, if I can do this in my town, then maybe I can broaden my horizons and sell in other towns. So that’s exactly what I did. I now sell and have sold in Malibu, Westlake, West Hills, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Venice, Culver City, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and Palos Verdes, to name a few. I pretty much “PopUp” (with the exception of a few stores that I wholesale to) every weekend with our local stores. My customers always seem to track me down to see my latest designs. I’m known as the “PopUp Queen Of The Southbay”)! I do have to say it is hard work. It’s designing, packaging, pricing, lugging, lifting, setting up my tents and umbrellas each and every time I pop up. But with hard work and determination, almost anything is possible.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing is a smooth road. It took me a long time to figure out where and how to source all of my findings to create beautiful quality pieces of jewelry at affordable prices. I think that was my biggest struggle.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in bracelet stacking, earring stacking and layering necklaces to complete a perfect look for each and every one of my customers. I’m known for the quality of my work and the affordable price points. I think what sets me apart from others are two things. Number 1, my customer is very very important to me and I will work with them for however long it takes to create the look that they are trying to achieve. When people write reviews on me, most say I am friendly and my customer service is outstanding. Without my customers, I am nothing. So I truly believe the customer is always right! And the number 2 thing that sets me apart is that I’m designing almost daily so every time a customer comes to see me at my PopUp’s, I have something fun and new.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
There’s not a lot of surprises with me. I’m very upfront and very forthcoming with who I am and what I do.
