Rising Stars: Meet Cody DiGerolamo of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cody DiGerolamo

Hi Cody, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi VoyageLA! Thanks for having me. My name is Cody DiGerolamo, and I am an actor and singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, CA.

From a very young age, I was drawn to the arts. My earliest memories are of attending a Montessori school, where we spent our days painting and playing music. I vividly remember sitting in a circle with my classmates, playing various percussion instruments. Those moments of creating music together had a profound impact on me.

Shortly after, I began taking piano lessons, and that’s when my passion for music really took off. Watching “School of Rock” for the first time ignited an interest in drums, and before I knew it, I was exploring other instruments. I taught myself to play guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, and more. By the age of 13, I was writing, recording, and performing my own original music.

My love for the arts didn’t stop at music. As a child, I was captivated by the physical comedy of Jim Carrey. I loved entertaining my friends and family with impressions, relishing the joy and laughter I could bring to them. This passion for performance led me to beg my parents to let me pursue acting. Despite their initial hesitation—having been in the industry themselves and knowing its challenges—they eventually agreed.

With their support, I dove headfirst into acting and booked my first audition at age 10. The thrill of performing and the satisfaction of knowing exactly what I wanted to do from such a young age has been a guiding light in my life. While the journey has been long and sometimes challenging, I consider it a beautiful curse—an unwavering passion that has shaped who I am today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Is any road smooth?? Navigating a career in acting and music has certainly had its share of obstacles and challenges. Embracing rejection and uncertainty as a reality is easier said than done—especially for someone whose job is to feel deeply. Lately, though, I’ve found freedom in treating auditions as opportunities to play without worrying about right or wrong. I’ve allowed myself to let go of expectations and lean into my inner child. Balancing both careers has been a delicate dance, and the most rewarding part has been my perseverance and resilience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Acting-wise, I recently shot an AT&T campaign opposite JB Smoove for March Madness, which was a dream come true! It was such a joy to watch him work; he had me rolling on the floor laughing. Additionally, a short film I starred in, titled “Trolled,” premiered at this year’s Cinequest as well as Las Vegas’s Sin City Horror Fest, where I won Best Actor.

Musically, I just released a new single titled “Can I Have This Dance?,” available on all streaming services. The song blends singer-songwriter, indie rock, and psychedelic pop, capturing the rush of early romance. Written after meeting my now-wife, it invites listeners to reminisce about newfound love. As a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, I played all the instruments on this DIY-recorded track, showcasing my indie ethos and commitment to thought-provoking lyrics and colorful instrumentation.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
