Rising Stars: Meet Ceehudd Hof of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ceehudd Hof

Hi CeeHudd, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is CEEHUDD aka DJ CeeHudd, I am a 27-years old I run Hall Of Fame Music Group (HOF) abbreviated, an independent record label I founded in 2022. I started djing in my freshman year college. Music had always been a love of mine and once I began djing more, it really meshed my love for it with my creativity. From studying others ahead of me, the DJ culture at Hampton University where I attended and practicing daily for hours, I quickly rose as one of the main DJ’s at the school. After returning back home to California in the 2nd semester of my Junior year, I started doing all the college events in LA, the IE and even San Diego. When I turned 21 I started going to the clubs in Hollywood and building and maneuvering through those for the next 5 years bringing me to where I am today. A headlining DJ in Hollywood with residencies across the country. From 21-27 I have been on 6 tours, heading out on my 7th in October. While I love DJing and want to continue on with it, it has always been just one aspect of the industry for me. I am a producer as well and started producing in 2019. I have also managed artists and have always wanted my own record label. In summer of 2022 I started working with KOS, and eventually started managing her as we debuted her first EP and Single. Ever since then is when HOF started, just with managing and getting behind her, building a solid foundation with who and what she will be. Also implementing my music, my production and network with it. Now that the foundation is built, we are looking to expand and grow as each. of our careers grow.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I don’t think anything I have done so far has been smooth road although I am grateful for every opportunity on this journey. Building and growing, waiting my turn as a DJ really helped me to be patient and realize that staying consistent goes a long way. There will always be road blocks and things you weren’t expecting but it is just part of the journey and part of the growth. As I’ve gone through just life in general, it has added to struggles with my passion dealing with daily drama, monthly bills, outgrowing relationships and emergency situations. I remember having to work the clubs as a promoter before getting my shot to DJ. I remember having my laptop stolen at an airbnb and having to get all my music again from scratch on top of buying a new laptop. I remember being on stage for a performance and my laptop freezing so I had to airdrop the songs to another dj. Honestly things are still happening to me that make things harder or a struggle, I’m not beyond “life lifing” because thats just life. One thing about life though. for me especially is that I will bounce back and God always has my back through whatever struggle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I wear many hats but my titles include: DJ/Producer/Manager/A&R and CEO . I own my own LLC of DJ CeeHudd LLC and have been most known across the country for that. I have been producing now for 5 years and have about 17 songs out now that have been produced by me and growing every year. I put my own Music out as a Producer, following in the steps of DJ Mustard, DJ Drama or DJ Khaled and have made some local bangers with artists. I have been an A&R Intern at Iammusicology and an A&R at Floor 13 distribution company that specializes in giving power to the A&R’s. I bring my knowledge for music and experience to the studio with the artist whom I manage and ultimately the label oversight. I know some people like to let the artist create alone trusting in their vision, and while I believe in the Artist 100%, sometimes my or another persons expertise on what a song needs can be valuable and I think also that it coming from the people that are behind the music and want it to grow as much as you do is a bonus rather than a negative thing. I like to say that our artists do have creative control, we aren’t forcing them to do anything any specific way, however we are going to bring the best out of you every time especially when we know your potential, that is part of development. It is important to me to respect the art and make timeless music with talented individuals. I want to see every artist I work with at their best. When picking an album or songs I’ll never come in like a major label and say “oh we need a pop album” or “we need a radio hit” because I believe if we’ve worked on the songs as a unit and pushed the artist to be their best, their is a radio hit in their catalog. We make timeless art with talented and creative artists, only real mud is going to last.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
As the music industry dives into a place now where former labels employees are building independent structures and the major labels are teaming up to create powerhouse artists, there will be a never before seen overpopulation in independence. Everyone will claim that it’s all about independence and the art. Pay attention to who is able to bridge that gap of independence with the corporate side of things. Everything is going corporate. Everyone is independent. I am building a label that will ultimately standout amongst others. From the brand, to the partnerships, to the music we will be pushing longevity. You can’t rush art, and you can’t rush greatness, but when the art is ready and the greatness is ready to be put on display, it will naturally shine brighter because it was developed properly.
