Hi Barby, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always been drawn to movement, creativity, and self-expression. My journey started with dance—it was my first love and the foundation for everything I do today. Over the years, I’ve built a career as a dancer, choreographer, influencer, and content creator, constantly evolving and pushing myself to new heights.

As I grew in the industry, I realized I wanted to create more than just performances—I wanted to build something lasting. That’s how Barbs, my clothing brand, came to life. It’s a reflection of my personal style: strong, feminine, and effortlessly bold. At the same time, I launched BMC Entertainment & Production to bring high-quality shows and productions to life, focusing on elevating the dance and entertainment scene.

Social media has been a game-changer in my career, allowing me to connect with people, share my work, and build a brand that’s authentically me. Now, I’m focused on expanding my reach, growing my businesses, and inspiring others through my journey. It hasn’t always been easy, but every challenge has shaped me into the artist and entrepreneur I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It certainly hasn’t been all smooth sailing. In the early days, breaking into a competitive industry came with moments of self-doubt and financial uncertainty. I had to learn quickly—not just the craft of dance and choreography, but also the ins and outs of managing a business and building a brand from scratch. There were times when the creative vision I held felt at odds with the practical challenges of the industry, and that tension often pushed me to find innovative solutions. Each setback, whether it was a creative block or navigating unexpected financial hurdles, taught me valuable lessons in resilience and adaptability. Ultimately, these challenges have not only honed my skills as an artist and entrepreneur but also deepened my commitment to inspiring others to pursue their dreams despite the obstacles they may face.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I consider myself both an artist and a creative entrepreneur. At my core, I specialize in dance and performance art, where I strive to blend technical precision with powerful storytelling. My choreography is designed not only to entertain but also to evoke deep emotional responses, creating moments that resonate long after the performance ends.

Over time, my work has evolved beyond the stage. I’ve embraced opportunities to expand my creative expression through ventures like my clothing brand and production company. These projects allow me to craft immersive experiences and build communities that celebrate individuality and artistic innovation.

I’m most proud of the way my work connects with people—sparking conversations, inspiring others, and challenging the norms of traditional art forms. What sets me apart is my relentless drive to merge creativity with entrepreneurship, continually pushing boundaries and inviting audiences to see the world through a lens of passion and authenticity.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Resilience has been the cornerstone of my success. In the creative world, setbacks are inevitable—whether it’s a challenging project or an unexpected hurdle that forces you to rethink your approach. I learned this firsthand when I broke my ankle; that injury not only sidelined me physically but also became a profound lesson in adapting and growing despite setbacks. Equally transformative was my move to the USA, a leap into a new culture and environment that tested my ability to reinvent myself both personally and professionally.

Each of these experiences taught me that true strength lies in the ability to embrace change, learn from adversity, and transform challenges into opportunities. This unwavering determination has allowed me to stay authentic, innovative, and continuously evolve in my craft.
