Rising Stars: Meet Barbra Banner of West Hollywood Hills

Today we’d like to introduce you to Barbra Banner.

Barbra, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a joyful, no BS Psychic/Evidential/Trance Medium, who brings through messages with stunning accuracy, humor, and healing. With a deep connection to spirit (and a few highly comedic and mischievous guides), I share a unique way of delivering evidence, validation, and ways to lighten the grief.

My first career was 35 years as an Advertising and Marketing executive. During that time I was always involved with some volunteer organizations like a woman’s crisis hotline, Cedars Sinai emergency room, and finally, the city’s Crisis Response Team, where I arrived at the scene of a death with the police and physical body still there… and the person’s family or witnesses present and needing support. Friends always asked me why I did that. My answer was always, because i can. I was well trained for all of it by amazing therapists, doctors and experts touching on every kind of crisis and death scenario imaginable. I say I am at my best when other people are at their worst.

The events that changed everything in my life happened at the beginning of the Pandemic. At the time I was clueless why my chosen volunteer opportunities sounded so intriguing to me. Was I an adrenaline junkie, I wondered? That quickly became apparent in the most unusual way.

All of a sudden my house became a paranormal hot spot. A clock and other items came flying off shelves, fans turned on simultaneously in several rooms with lights flashing, with and without a bulb. To top it off mysterious orbs appeared when I looked at a video I just shot. This was a push from spirit that was impossible to ignore. I had no idea my decades of volunteering were stepping stones to finding my true calling, and that my gifts ran in the family. Fast forward, I’m now a certified medium with Helping Parents Heal Org., Find a Certified Medium with Mark Ireland and Very Soul. I support grieving families with a mix of compassion, startling evidence and a touch of humor. I love when mental and physical health and Psychic/Evidential and Trance Mediumship intersect to help raise everyone’s spirit.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When the Pandemic started, I had never even meditated before, but during my first Mediumship class practice, I saw my deceased father telling others that “I was doing it!” I literally hit the ground running and hung a shingle in 7 months with a waiting list of other mediums wanting to trade readings with me. I tell people the spirit world put me on ice for 40 years and then decided to re-activate me.

I will forever be working to enhance my skills. During my early training, my type A personality came through and I tried to do 5 readings a day. Needless to say about 9 months later I burned out. The wise director said take some time off and figure things out.

Now I practice self-care and know if there’s a hole in my schedule, it’s meant to be there so I can recharge, watch some Netflix, get with friends. My guides know exactly what I need. I mean, who am I to argue with spirit?

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My ever-increasing knowledge of the spirit world and my sense of humor have differentiated me from many mediums.
I do readings almost every day and want to make sure those who need it most get their readings. I spent the last year appearing as a guest on over 100 of some of the best podcasts in the industry. One garnered over 350k views in first 30 days. Nobody was more surprised than me. I love helping people understand their loved ones aren’t gone…they just went a little ahead of you.Yes their physical bodies are not there, but their consciousness is eternal. And good news… you’ll all meet up later.

I also believe that everyone should have access to the loved ones across the veil. That’s why I do an exercise with clients at the end of the session to prove they are around, and that the client’s answer to a question, was guided by spirit. Yes, they can steer your intuition and send you messages of all kinds. As I tell everyone, in my world it’s not seeing is believing (as we were taught in the old days), now it’s if you believe, you can receive. It’s a process. We all know we can’t bring them back, but I can bring them closer. And I’m dedicated to helping clients learn to do it themselves.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
We are all here for the same reason …to learn lessons and have experiences that help our souls evolve. It’s really simple. The best and the worst things that happen in this lifetime were pre-planned by us and other light beings, and happen for reasons we will not know until we transition. And that laughter, joy and gratitude are the highest vibration emotions that can help open the pathways for our loved ones to communicate with us, and interrupt the grief. It’s a mystical world we live in. And it’s more fascinating than you can imagine.
