Raven Rayanna’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

Raven Rayanna shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Raven, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I currently live abroad in Southeast Asia. I’m in Bangkok at the moment, but I’ll be moving to Bali in two weeks. A typical day for me starts with my daily devotional, followed by coaching my students. I usually head to the gym afterward, then spend the rest of my day working by the pool or at the beach.

Most days, I’m researching new business ventures, learning more about AI, creating digital products, or diving into trading (which I’m still wrapping my head around, but I refuse to give up haha!). I love that my days are a balance of discipline, creativity, learning, and enjoying the lifestyle I’ve intentionally built.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a certified life and business coach specializing in marketing, mental health, fitness, and creating balance between lifestyle and income. I’m also a retired hairstylist, which is where my coaching journey began. I originally worked exclusively with beauty professionals, helping them grow their businesses, and over time I expanded my niche as my expertise grew across multiple areas.

What makes my coaching unique is that I approach growth from many different angles. I’m able to support my clients not just strategically, but mentally as well. As someone who is neurodivergent and lives with bipolar II disorder, I coach with a deep level of sensitivity and understanding. I truly understand mental battles, and I know firsthand how much mindset impacts success in business.

As a bipolar II businesswoman, I’ve had to master my mindset in order to succeed. That experience shapes everything I do. If I can build a thriving business and a life I love while navigating mental health challenges, I truly believe anyone can. That belief is at the core of how I coach and how I help women build both their dream businesses and their dream lives.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Honestly, I am now exactly who I was before the world began shaping me. After years of morphing my personality, shrinking myself, putting myself into a box, and losing confidence in my quirkiness and “nerdiness,” I finally began healing my inner child and bringing her back to life.

For a long time, it felt like she had been buried, and this season of my life has been about pulling her back out and allowing her to exist freely again. At my core, I am fearless, imaginative, playful, and deeply enthusiastic about life. I’m fun, I’m funny, and I genuinely love living.

I’m a lover girl, a loyal friend, a teacher, and a healer. More than anything, I truly believe that for the first time in a long time, I am fully walking in my God-given purpose.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
About five months ago, when I made the decision to see a psychiatrist and begin treatment for bipolar II disorder. At first, I was scared. I worried that my diagnosis would make me seem weak or unstable.

But I’ve come to realize that it’s actually my superpower. It’s what allows me to be deeply sensitive to the needs of others, genuinely kind, and incredibly understanding. It’s what sets me apart as a coach.

My lived experience allows me to truly relate to women in business who want success but struggle mentally. I help them build systems, routines, and businesses that align with their real lives, not unrealistic expectations. Turning my pain into purpose has been one of the most powerful decisions I’ve ever made.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that happiness, stability, and freedom matter most to me. Those are my top three, without question. I don’t like being sad, I don’t like living in survival mode, and I hate feeling restrained.

Everything I build in my life and business is rooted in creating joy, emotional stability, and the freedom to live on my own terms.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace by the water, which is a big reason I’m moving to Bali this month. I’ve always been a water girl. I love the sound of the waves, I love being in the ocean, and I’m drawn to anything that involves water.

Surfing, snorkeling, boats, beachside restaurants. Anything near the water instantly grounds me and brings me a sense of calm. Being by the ocean feels like home to me.
