We recently had the chance to connect with Nvrhme. and have shared our conversation below.
Nvrhme., it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is super simple actually. I wake up around 2-3pm and take a long shower to wash the night off. Most likely will go to my best friends house. We’ll eat and drink and have a great time. Then I’ll record music starting at around 9-10pm until about 3-5am. Boom, that’s the day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Nvrhme. (never-home) I’m a singer from the Bay Area doing music full time in Los Angeles. It took me 5 years and 17 days out here to sign my first deal. I’m a music artist who’s now figuring out how to just be a person and enjoy my life instead of non-stop recording.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that really opened my world up is when I realized everything we know and believe and how we behave was told to us by someone else.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell myself it’s worth it, and it works. I never doubted, not because I was so confident I just never had a moment to doubt because I was only ever focused on improving and practicing.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Absolutely. I often get calls from my sister saying how I shouldn’t be so open and stop posting certain things but I don’t care. I almost use her disdain for things as a marker of me just being myself. I don’t have anything to hide.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Certain people will misunderstand that I’m not the bad guy. I’ve had to make certain calls and decisions that could leave a bad taste in some peoples mouth but I understand exactly what my vision is and I know how to move things, or people around to get where I’m going, A lot of the time in a pursuit of greatness everyone can’t go and that is painful for everyone involved but knowing when is so important.
