We’re looking forward to introducing you to Montse Soto. Check out our conversation below.
Montse , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Yes! Recently, giving my first TED Talk was definitely one of those moments. It made me feel really proud because it was something I had dreamed about for a long time. Standing on that stage, sharing my story and my perspective, and seeing people connect with my words was surreal. I also laughed a lot during rehearsals — it was such a mix of nerves, excitement, and joy. It reminded me how powerful it feels to use your voice to inspire others.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Montse Soto, an actress, singer, and content creator passionate about storytelling in all its forms. I’ve been building my career both in front of the camera and on stage, and I love sharing moments from my life, art, and creative projects with my audience.
What makes my work special is that I combine multiple passions — acting, music, lifestyle, and self-expression — to create content and performances that feel authentic and relatable. Right now, I’m working on my music career, preparing new releases, and developing exciting acting projects, while also sharing my journey and creative process with my followers. I want people to feel inspired to pursue their dreams and embrace their own unique stories.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world tried to tell me who I had to be, I was a collection of whispers and dreams — a girl who laughed too loudly, asked too many questions, and felt everything deeply. I wandered freely through my imagination, fearless and unshaped, embracing all the colors of who I was without apology. I was curiosity, fire, and music all at once — a soul refusing to be boxed in. And even now, as I grow and learn, that original self still pulses inside me, guiding me to create, to speak, and to live authentically.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain the moment I realized it was never meant to be my weakness — it was meant to be my fuel. For a long time, I tried to bury it, pretending I was fine and happy, but silence only made the wounds grow louder. It wasn’t until I started writing music and performing that I understood pain could be transformed — into art, into truth, into strength. Every lyric, every scene, every story became a way to turn heartbreak into healing. That’s when pain stopped defining me and started empowering me.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is real — but it’s not all of me. It’s the part that shines, creates, and connects, but behind that, there’s a quieter version too — one that doubts, feels deeply, and constantly searches for balance. I think both are true. The person people see is genuine, but there’s always more beneath the surface: the late nights, the heartbreaks, the growth. I don’t see them as separate — just different reflections of the same soul.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What will you regret not doing?
I’ll regret not chasing the dreams that scare me the most, not speaking my truth, and not fully embracing the risks that make life feel alive. I’d regret holding back my creativity, my voice, or my heart out of fear of failing or being judged. The things I’d truly regret are the chances I didn’t take, the stories I didn’t tell, and the life I didn’t dare to live fully.
