Meet Yung P

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yung P.

Hi Yung P, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has always been my passion but I didn’t begin to take it seriously until the end of high school. I have always been influenced by the rich hiphop culture around me. Growing up in Vallejo CA shaped my perspectives and fueled me to be a better artist. I aspire to create the most authentic music I can. I feel like every piece of my catalogue embodies a time in my life.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There is always bumps in the road. The music industry is a tough place and not for the weak. I have found most of my success through simply putting my art out for the world to hear. It is easy to become unmotivated in the face of adversity, but fighting through that is where the magic happens. Though it has never been easy, I couldn’t imagine living any other way. I love creating music and always will.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create music. Whether it’s through single, EP, or album releases. My goal is always to bring new music to the world. This year I have accomplished that through singles such as Heartless, Mixed Emotions, and Nukes. We also dropped a great body of work through my project Overtime. Though I feel my greatest work to date is through my latest EP in collaboration with Darshmadebeats “Count Me Out”. A truly passionate body of work that tells the story how it is. Through tracks such as “Believe” which talks about the doubt a lot of people face while chasing their dreams or “Judgement” which speaks to my relationship with judgment itself. Finally “Count Me Out” a song that talks about the motivation through the journey, the hardships life throws at us, and the tenacity to never give up.
