Meet Xiaowan Jin of Chino Hills, CA

Today we’d like to introduce you to Xiaowan Jin.

Hi Xiaowan , can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Xiaowan is a very gifted 11yo SAG actress, model and GATE student (IQ=130 per NNAT3), fully bilingual in English and Chinese, talented far beyond her age in various aspects! An exceptional talent with Star potential who can exhibit emotions (crying real tears) effortlessly, an excellent reader, can memorize lines quickly!

Graduated from Child Actor LA Institute in 2018! Acting class with Santa Clarita School of Performing Arts from Jan 2021 to Jan 2022; Acting class with Celebrity actress Magi Avila from Mar to Jun 2023! Has been represented by Aqua Talent (agency) since 2018 and by Bohemia Group (manager) since 2023!

Has incredibly booked 394 jobs, finished 358 and earned 57 IMDb credits so far since 9/30/18 when she was 3+ years old, including dance performance, print modeling, MVs, musicals, stage plays, major commercials (Dish, Michaels, Chewy, Home Depot, Papa Johns, Walmart, Bank of America World Cup etc), 65 fashion shows (NYFW), 68 short films (Lead & Supporting), 23 feature films (Supporting), 12 Webisodes, 1 TV reality show (MasterChef Junior on FOX), 10 TV series & 5 pilots for TV series (Pilot for the last season of Modern Family and Lead Role in an Amazon Prime film)!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Basically it has been a smooth road before Xiaowan had to joined SAG. From Sep 2018 to Sep 2023, she had been booking and working basically every single week, in other words, average 4 jobs per month! And she was often the Only Asian kid at most in-person auditions she attended!

As time went by, she became “SAG Eligible” at 6yo, then “SAG Must Join”, then in Sep 2023 she booked Home Depot SAG commercial which made her “SAG Had to Join”.

Since she joined SAG in 2023 (8yo), she can’t be submitted to non-union projects anymore so her audition opportunities have been dramatically decreased from 2-3 auditions per week to 1 commercial audition every 1-2 months as the fact is that non-union (non-SAG) jobs account for the vast majority of opportunities in the acting industry, particularly in commercials, indie films, and digital content.

The magic/charm of entertainment industry (for a child actor specifically) is that you never know when you will book your next job, what your next job is all about, what your work location looks like, who you will meet on set, what new tech/cool knowledge/novelty you will see/learn on set and how or even what scenes exactly you will perform…

No matter what the future holds for Xiaowan, as long as she is still interested in acting, I (momager) will be her forever supporter！

PS: As a successful momager (mom + manager) of an actively booking and working child actor, it has not been easy at all! A professional Momager is simply like a full-time job and requires huge enthusiasm, perseverance and various skills (parenting, acting coach, director, photographer, editor and driver).

Actively working child actor since 3+ yo!

As an Asian (East Asian) child actor in Hollywood incredibly booked and finished 358 jobs so far since Sep 2018 given that white and African American child actors generally have way more opportunities than other ethnicities in this industry!

A Natural born runway child model, 65 fashions show so far since 4yo (Mar 2019), slaying runway with super model walking skills which are barely found in child model at her age. More stunningly, she never took any modeling classes, but was just born to be a super model!

GATE student with an IQ of 130, top 2% nationwide. Actually gifted not only in acting, but in various aspects. For example, learned how to ride a two-wheel bike less than 7 minutes whereas most people would take a couple of days! Another example, performed a 100% comedy IMPROV for incredible 10+ minutes!

Actually Xiaowan’s gift already existed even BEFORE she was born! Believe it or not, her name Xiaowan was given by Herself when she was 3-month fetus old (i.e. 7 months before she was born)!

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Never give up if you love what you do!
