Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! My name is Vernise Haizlip. BellaTresses officially started over a decade ago, but my journey began back in 2008 when I started working at my aunt Joncea’s hair salon. There, I learned the ropes of the industry, from client care to technical skills. After gaining experience, I built my own client base and grew my business in DC.

In 2024, I made the big move to California, which meant starting over from scratch. I had to find a new market, build a fresh client base, and adapt to a completely different environment. Though it was challenging, the experience pushed me to grow and adapt. Today, Bella Tresses continues to evolve, and I’m more dedicated than ever to providing quality service and building a brand that people trust.

Now, I’m excited to announce the launch of my beauty supply store! You can now shop with us, and we’re open late to make sure you always have access to the best beauty products when you need them. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for supporting this journey!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning BellaTresses has definitely not been an easy road. Like any business, there have been countless obstacles along the way that have tested us. From navigating slow seasons where sales were slow to ensuring that the products we do offer actually reach the right audience and stand out in a crowded market. On top of that, building brand recognition and getting the business seen and heard by others.

I’m a hairstylist and beauty supply store owner based in North Hollywood, CA, and what truly sets BellaTresses apart from other beauty supply stores is our commitment to convenience and service. This flexibility makes it easier for our clients to get what they need when they need it.

What I’m most proud of, though, isn’t just the products we offer; it’s the relationships I’ve built with my clients.
