Meet Toru Hashinokuchi of GREEN LINER INTERNATIONAL INC.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toru Hashinokuchi.

Hi Toru, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Born and raised in Japan, I always harbored a childhood dream of becoming an actor. However, my journey took a major detour when I moved to the United States and established my company, Green Liner International Inc. I started with absolutely nothing—no financial background, no corporate safety net, and only minimal savings. We operated out of a cramped, shared leased office, completely lacking a marketing budget while facing fierce competition from established giants. What sustained me through this grueling launch was my lifelong dedication to martial arts. I began training at age five, practicing Kendo, Judo, boxing, Muay Thai, and Jujutsu. In 1987, meeting an Aikido master reshaped my life entirely. By channeling the discipline and mental fortitude of a martial artist, I pushed through the toughest years of business ownership.Over the past 26 years, I successfully transformed that struggling startup into a thriving, organic enterprise driven entirely by referral-based corporate clients. Today, my life has come full circle. I am proud to successfully direct my company, dedicate my free time to teaching Aikido to the community, and actively live out my childhood dream as a working Hollywood actor.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has absolutely not been smooth; it has been a 26-year journey marked by extreme highs and terrifying lows. The financial pressure was immediate and crippling. Just two months after launching operations, our bank balance plummeted to less than $2,000. It was a dark, terrifying reality. I distinctly remember sitting in our cramped, shared office genuinely believing I had made a catastrophic mistake and ruined my life by launching the business.Overcoming that level of despair required absolute self-belief and a fierce martial arts spirit. Because we had zero budget for promotions, we couldn’t market ourselves traditionally. I refused to quit. Instead, I channeled my focus into providing an uncompromising level of elite, first-class service. It took a long time to secure clients, but we treated every single account with immaculate care.Believe it or not, those early customers recognized that raw dedication. They chose to support me personally and ultimately saved our business from bankruptcy. We survived the fierce competition and decades of market volatility because our reputation became our marketing. Those early struggles taught me that resilience is built in the moments you choose not to tap out.

As you know, we’re big fans of GREEN LINER INTERNATIONAL INC.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
What sets me apart from others in the global logistics industry is the integration of a martial arts spirit into corporate business, alongside a deeply rooted philosophy of luxury service. The very name of my company, Green Liner International Inc., reflects this standard. The word “Green” is derived directly from the premium “Green Car” (First Class) cabins of the Shinkansen (Bullet Trains) in Japan. In Japanese transit culture, the Green Car represents the absolute peak of luxury, punctuality, serene comfort, and meticulous hospitality. I chose this name to signify our corporate commitment to delivering that exact same standard of first-class excellence and “extra miles of care” to the global moving and relocation industry.I do not view logistics simply as moving cargo; I approach it with the same discipline, focus, and mental fortitude required in the dojo. When my business was failing financially, it was my martial arts training that kept me anchored and refused to let me yield to pressure. Because we started with nothing, our core value became this unwavering commitment to elite customer care. We treated our clients’ needs with an unmatched level of dedication, which allowed us to build an organic, referral-driven enterprise that has withstood decades of market volatility. Today, our reputation for providing great moving services has spread entirely through word-of-mouth. I regularly receive calls from different states and other countries from clients seeking our elite level of care.Furthermore, my professional life extends far beyond the office. I am an active competitor on the global tournament circuit, recently winning an award for the third consecutive year at a prestigious Yoshinkan Aikido tournament in Tokyo. Whether I am navigating complex international supply chains or performing dynamic action sequences on a movie set, my principle remains identical: outwork the challenges and never compromise on excellence.

What’s next?
My future is focused on massive expansion, creative growth, and deepening my lifelong duty to my community. A beautiful turning point occurred when a gentleman watched one of my live Aikido demonstrations in Los Angeles and called me out of the blue to ask if I would appear in his Hollywood movie. That single breakthrough validated decades of discipline and instantly reignited my childhood dream. The momentum since then has been incredible. While successfully directing Green Liner International, I broke into the film industry and was hired on three separate movies in a span of just five months. I recently completed roles and performed dynamic Aikido action sequences in Nitti Enforcer meets Yakuza, Sicario vs Shogun Robots, and Tokyo Psycho Ex-Girlfriend.Moving forward, I plan to aggressively expand my footprint in Hollywood cinema, bringing authentic martial arts to the big screen. Simultaneously, I am dedicated to using Aikido as a tool to empower the community. A major focus of mine is teaching self-defense to children who are being bullied, helping them build the inner strength, confidence, and resilience they need to stand tall. My goal is to beautifully balance corporate leadership, youth mentorship, and a thriving acting career without ever slowing down.
