Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello!
My name is Tina Anand, and nearly 13 years ago, my husband, Saanand Sethee, and I opened Kiddie Academy of Diamond Bar. We started this preschool in the heart of our community with a simple dream—to raise our children in a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment, surrounded by love and learning.
As a mom, I always hoped for a place where my children could thrive while I was at work—a place that felt like a second home. When I was expecting our first child, the thought of leaving them in someone else’s care was incredibly difficult. That’s when the idea sparked: Why not create a daycare and preschool where I could be both a present mom and a dedicated business owner?
From the very beginning, Kiddie Academy of Diamond Bar has been just that—a second home. Both of our children have grown up here, supported by loving teachers and surrounded by meaningful friendships. It’s been our mission to offer the same warm, inclusive, and joyful experience to every family who walks through our doors.
Our curriculum celebrates diversity, inclusivity, and a love for learning. We introduce children to different cultures and global traditions, and we regularly partner with local organizations—like the fire department, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and St. Jude’s Trike-a-Thon—to enrich our programs and connect our students with the world around them.
We’re proud to be part of this wonderful community and grateful to share in the early years of so many children’s lives.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We’ve faced our fair share of challenges over the years, but the most significant one by far was navigating the COVID-19 crisis. It was an incredibly uncertain time for everyone, and the daycare industry was hit especially hard. Families were hesitant to send their children, educators were concerned for their safety, and there was widespread uncertainty surrounding the virus and its symptoms. Despite these obstacles, we remained committed and worked tirelessly to adapt and move forward. Today, we’re proud to say we’ve come through stronger than ever, with a dedicated team, supportive families, and—most importantly—happy, thriving children.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a preschool and daycare center serving children from 8 weeks to 6 years old. Our reputation is built on a genuine love for children and strong partnerships within the community.
Our curriculum is rooted in diversity, inclusivity, and a passion for learning. We expose children to a wide range of cultures and global traditions, helping them build awareness and appreciation for the world around them. Through collaborations with local organizations—such as the fire department, the Aquarium of the Pacific, and St. Jude’s Trike-a-Thon—we enrich our programs and create meaningful, real-world connections.
We also host a variety of special events throughout the year, including the Lion Dance for Lunar New Year, Trunk or Treat for Halloween, Diwali celebrations, holiday performances, and our beloved Family Pumpkin Patch!
