Meet Tess Adams of Take Care

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tess Adams.

Tess, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Holistic esthetician and business owner. I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, moving to NY in 2006. I have been in the beauty industry for over a decade, originally cutting and coloring hair. Along the way, I became interested in skincare, so with time, that became solely my focus. My sister Sadie Adams & I opened Take Care New York in 2010, in NYCs East Village. Specializing in Microcurrent Face and body treatments. In 2019, we opened our second location this time, with a bigger collective and vision!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being young and starting a business comes with a lot of life lessons along the way, most of which I learned the hard way! If there is one thing I have learned, it is to not take things personally in business!

Take Care is a studio on Abbot Kinney in Venice. We are a collective of practitioners offering Holistic healing in the form of Facials, Reflexology, Craniosacral Therapy, Haircuts, Reiki, Sound Baths and meditation. Our vision is to offer clients of all backgrounds a safe space to experience self-care and support. We believe in the mind-body connection, and after surviving the pandemic, we want to keep connecting with our community to inspire wellness.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Cooking with my dad in the kitchen. So many lessons learned during those times!
