Today we’d like to introduce you to Teo Pasquale
Teo, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey in music is deeply rooted in my upbringing and the experiences that have shaped who I am today. I’m Teo Pasquale, a Hip-Hop/Alternative artist born on April 16, 1998, from a small town called Ambler, just 25 minutes outside of Philadelphia. I come from an Italian and Black background, and I love expressing both cultures through my music.
I got my start in music at the age of 14, experimenting on my brother’s MacBook with GarageBand and Logic. My older brother, who makes beats, played a big role in introducing me to the world of arts. My dad also had a huge influence on my musical tastes. Growing up, I found myself hanging out with my brother’s friends—a community of artists who would gather at our friend Matt’s house, where we had a studio set up in his parents’ basement. That basement was like an art school for me. I was a sponge, soaking up all the knowledge and creativity around me, and those experiences laid the foundation for the artist I am today.
In 2018, my world changed when I lost my mother. The grief was overwhelming, but I found solace in making music. It became my way of processing the pain and keeping her memory alive. Every song I create is a piece of that journey—a way to honor her and find strength in the midst of loss.
I tried to pursue my music career in my hometown, but despite making creative strides, my career wasn’t progressing the way I wanted. In Feb, 2024, I faced a tough decision: stay where I was comfortable or take a leap and move to Los Angeles.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Moving to LA was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made. It meant leaving behind my loved ones and everything familiar, but I knew that it was necessary to fulfill my purpose in music. Since making the move, my career has progressed in ways I couldn’t have imagined. In just six months here, I’ve accomplished what would have taken me six years back home. One of the highlights so far has been having my music featured on ABC’s TV show “Will Trent,” which has been a huge milestone for me.
But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Living on my own, building a life from scratch, and chasing a dream in a new city is a constant grind. The challenges are real, but they’ve made me stronger and more determined to succeed. I’ve learned that you can’t be scared to get your feet wet—success comes to those who are willing to take risks.
LA has tested me in ways I never expected, but it’s also shown me what I’m capable of. I’ve grown not only as a musician but also as a person, and I’m grateful for the journey so far. The road ahead is still long, but I’m excited to see where it leads.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m Teo Pasquale, an Italian/Black musician originally from a small town in Pennsylvania, now based in Los Angeles. My music is a blend of hip-hop, Alternative R&B, and soulful elements, inspired by my life experiences, nature, and the world around me.
One of the things that sets me apart is my approach to creativity—I believe in the uniqueness of human-created art, and I aim for my work to resonate on a personal level with listeners.
What I’m most proud of is my gift from God of being able to express my words through vibration and melody. This ability allows me to connect deeply with my audience, transforming my emotions and experiences into something that resonates with others.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I have a lot of favorite childhood memories, but one that stands out is being in my dad’s droptop, sitting in the backseat, eating Rita’s water ice while listening to Public Enemy and Prince. Even though I didn’t fully understand the lyrics back then, the melodies and beats took me to another space that I can’t quite explain. It’s moments like those that shaped my deep connection to music and inspired me to create.
