Today we’d like to introduce you to Tarron Crayton.

Tarron Crayton

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My musical journey started around 5 years old singing in a Gospel Quartet with my sisters and cousin. Later, I started playing drums at around 8 years old. I picked up bass guitar at 15 and started playing for my home church and local gospel quartets. I later graduated from Northside High in Memphis, TN, 2006. I then went to University Of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) where I joined the Jazz Band in order to be a Sound Recording Technology Major (SRT). After a few semesters, I moved back to Memphis and began playing bass guitar on the famous Beale Street (Club 152). In April 2011, after two years on Beale St., I packed up and moved to Los Angeles, CA. My first few months, I went to every Jam session I could find to play and meet more great, working musicians. My first tour and gigs came from those jams’ sessions, and I’m forever grateful for them. While touring, I continued to work on my production every chance I got. That has led me to become a Grammy-winning songwriter and 8x Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, and musician. Thankful for all the collaborators I have been blessed to work with. Thank you all!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have faced a number of obstacles throughout the years. There are so many I can’t really pick one to talk about. I will say that there will always be challenges. However, prayer, faith, hard work, and dedication has always gotten me through difficult times.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a musician, music producer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. I specialize in production as well as live music. I am most proud of the knowledge that I have gained over the years. I think what sets me apart is my will to want to be great and continue the journey. That will drives me to learn more, do more, and be better every day.

What does success mean to you?
Success to me is setting goals, reaching and surpassing the goals that were set. No matter how big or small those goals are. I think it is important for everyone to define their own success and not look for outside validation.
