Meet Satya Reyes of HUG – Healing U Gently

Today we’d like to introduce you to Satya Reyes.

Satya, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was in esthetician school about 20 years ago and we had a visitor come do a short training on “energy work”. I don’t remember details, I only remember feeling like I was whole somehow. Within a year, I had my first spiritual teacher, Diane Vaughn, a Reiki Master Teacher. Within six months, I’d received all three initiations and opened my first business in Hermosa Beach where I united my energy work with natural facials, sold crystals, handmade soap and of course, skincare.

After my initiations and with the guidance of my teacher, I learned the depths of my sensitivities and that they were gifts, not detriments. Honestly, it’s pretty much taken the entirety of the 20 years of devotion to my healing to accept myself and honor my gifts.

After a break for a few years after having my children, I studied Spiritual Psychology for a year at The University Santa Monica. Then I dove deep into practicing and studying Tantric Yoga as well as many other modalities that assisted me in having a deeper, more intimate relationship with myself and spirit.

Most recently, I was initiated into a modality of Healing called Clear Light Healing and I feel a much deeper integration and a greater ease with the energies I channel. It’s truly an honor to use my gifts of mediumship, clairvoyance and all the skills I’ve collected along the road, to be of service on this wild human ride.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Ha, nope! It can be exhausting to be so sensitive and I’ve had to learn different ways to keep my space clear and I keep adding more. I love being able to share these tools to help others not give too much of themselves away.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I got the name HUG – Healing U Gently, directly from my guides after an expanding spiritual experience. It’s perfect because I’m a hugger and people often comment on their healing quality. One of my favorite pieces of guidance is “Be gentle with yourself” We all are so damn hard on ourselves sometimes and with all the challenges we each face it’s just essential to bring some sweetness.

My clients tend to be women who have some sort of a connection to The Divine Mother or Jesus (even if the don’t realize it) and who are ready to create stronger boundaries and use their voice in authentic expression. I’m a born expresser And truth teller, which is not an easy path, but I’m thrilled to be an example and give tools and practices to help others live their truth.

Connection, compassion and play are some qualities I value (I’ve been dubbed The Priestess of Play) And i  bring them all into my sessions, circles, events and classes.

I’m proud to be a clear channel for light to remind people who they are beyond all their essential, messy, humanness and to assist them in healing their traumas to allow for more clarity, inspiration, joy and play to express in their lives.

What were you like growing up?
I grew up on 5 acres in Michigan and only in hindsight realize that nature was my church… my connection to God. I was so sensitive and emotional and heard the classic you’re TOO sensitive, you’re TOO emotional, you’re TOO dramatic. It was painful. Yet, as a grown and wise woman and Mother, I understand the challenges.  I found a place for my “bigness” in school choir and theatre and had the lead in my senior musical. Being adopted brought its own set of challenges which has also taken me a long time to be with lovingly. But all of these things make me who I am, and honestly, I’m pretty awesome.
