Meet Santiago Pazos of Pazos Media and Coroa Yoga in Silverlake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Santiago Pazos.

Santiago, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am a proud immigrant, entrepreneur, and yogi. Over the past ten years, I have started my own public relations services, Pazos Media, and advanced my career as a communications professional. Since beginning Pazos Media, I have had the privilege to work alongside highly creative clients across a wide array of cultural forums, including; Coréon Dú, International Emmy Nominee producer and musician; proyectosLA, part of The Getty’s Museum initiative PST LALA; Art Basel Miami; Avant-garde musician Dorian Wood; Los Angeles Theater Center, and other inspiring endeavors.

On the other hand, I created my second business, Coroa Yoga. Coroa is the first luxury brand for male yogis, and we offer high-quality garments for the contemporary male yogi. All of our products are manufactured in Los Angeles and we are planning to release our second collection once the pandemic gets under control. We are under the designing process right now.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely, the fact I am not originally from the US is a big challenge itself since I did not have initial and long-standing connections in the country. I was luckily raised under the idea of never giving up, nurturing resilience and commitment to achieve one’s goals. My childhood and education, in combination with a wonderful group of human beings around me in the States – art expert Tracy O’Brien, Circus Marketing, designer and art director Xhico and my partner Albert-, were the reasons I kept pushing in my goal of finding myself a mental, human, and professional space in Los Angeles.

My PR company started very small, offering almost free services to my clients. Slowly I started generating more reputation and, consequently, more revenue. I feel so lucky I have got to work with both international and Los Angeles focused projects. What an honor. Now I look back and I feel tremendously proud of all the opportunities and endeavors I have been immersed for the last ten years.

In regards to Coroa Yoga, it was a massive challenge since I am not a fashion designer neither a fashion production manager. However, I loved my idea, the commitment, and that’s what drove me to keep pushing further despite learning that the LA fashion manufacturing industry is extremely challenging.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Pazos Media and Coroa Yoga – what should we know?
Since I have two different businesses let me give you separate in-depth information.

Pazos Media, my PR contractor company, was born out of necessity. After a couple of experiences in the Hollywood based PR world, I noticed there was a huge market being unheard, untapped, and ignored. That’s the indie & artistic side of Los Angeles. As mentioned before, my company started very small, offering services to now highly influential artists like avant-garde musician Dorian Wood, Anonimo Art Auction, and fashion designer Sandra Cadavid. As I helped my clients grow, so did my company.

In a matter of years, I got my own office / creative space in the heart of Silverlake, a cute inspiring space where I make magic happen. My office is located on top of another magical space, Akbar Gay Bar in Silverlake. One client led me to another and so far, I have had the pleasure to work in a wide array of clients and projects: proyectosLA – part of PST LALA, Art Basel Miami, Emmy Nominee producer Coreon Du, Anonimo Art Auction, and produced events in Mexico and the US.

Coroa Yoga is my new baby. Made entirely in Los Angeles Coroa is the first yoga clothing line for men. As it happened with Pazos Media, Coroa was born out of necessity. Most of Yoga industry caters to women despite that industry itself tries to convince men to go into the mat. However, the majority of prominent brands out there never really approached them in a meaningful way. Despite I am not a fashion designer neither I have a fashion production background, I loved my idea and launched the first collection. Furthermore, Coroa is not only a fashion brand. It is a movement, an initiative that has been pushing to bring #moremenonthemat as a key for a better society.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Charisma, tenacity, commitment, resilience, perseverance, passion, and most importantly, LOVE
