Meet Samone Shanyelle of Electrafy Essentials

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samone Shanyelle.

Hi Samone, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up in a town called Murrieta, Ca, although I was born in Maryland!

I’m a Taurus sun, Scorpio moon, and Aquarius rising (for those of you who are into astrology)

My journey started in High school, having skin issues and straightening my hair constantly because I didn’t believe in my curls being pretty. Staying out of the sun because I didn’t believe my skin being dark was beautiful. I had all of these insecurities and misleading beauty standards that eventually broke me down.

My sophomore year in high school I did a big chop with the intention of starting my natural hair journey. That consisted of making all of my own hair products from anything I could find in the kitchen. Shout out to YouTube, which lead me to self-teach box braid and that became my go-to look!

Still struggling with skin breakouts, I found out my skin was addicted to this product I received from dermatologists, when I would stop using it I would break out into a rash on my face. It was horrible, so one night I was looking into natural remedies and I came across Dr. Sebi who has the philosophy that every disease is from mucus. That whole night I filled my brain with all the information I could and the next day, I started my plant-based journey. I wanted to be pure and filled with the most vitality and peace within myself.

I’m six years plant-based now, on this journey, I got into modeling with the help of friends who took my digitals and I submitted them to a couple of agencies and received responses. I signed with MP who is now Select Models and have been rocking with them ever since. Six months into modeling I was scouted by a London agency and got my passport at (19!!!) flew to London and my second week there I met my love, business partner Saint! My agency and Saint had me out in London for six months straight, London is now a very scared space in my heart.

I hit milestones in my modeling career, working with gap, being on time square, shooting with one of my ultimate dream brands, savage x fenty and so much more. In the stores and all over London train station. My heart is soo filled and grateful for the blessing this universe has sent me.

Everything leading up to where I am now, a seeker of deeper truths, 200 hr yoga teacher training, plant-based chef, model, business owner. I am building a brand called Electrafy Essentials where you can buy all of my homemade essentials like body butter, oils, foraged herbs, plant-based food/advice and so much more.

All is this success is because of everything I went through that made me stronger and wiser. And there is so much more to go.

My message to everyone is to look deeper into things, know why you are doing the things you do. Get into that sunshine because it is vital to our health and we want all of that melanin. If you are healing from disease look into plant-based lifestyle, and Dr. Sebi.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some struggles I faced are being the only plant-based eater in a house of meat eaters. Some people don’t understand and that’s okay. Having strength and faith in what you do is key.

In modeling, some test shoots would use your images for billboards or on sites that were never negotiated. One time I was on a billboard in South Africa for a brand I didn’t shoot for!!

Once the jab came out, I wasn’t able to work with certain brands and missed out on so much money opportunities and partnerships. I am a believer in self-healing and taking my health into my own hands.

All travel restrictions that came with that were a struggle because Saint (my love) is from the UK and I am in the states.

Standing against the odds is a struggle sometimes but I learned to become comfortable with that.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?

Electrafy Essentials is a conscious self-care brand that provides essentials that are all natural and handmade.

Electrafy came from the overstanding that we are electric beings and the importance of this electrical pulse charging up to its fullest potential using earth elements.

From body butter to oils and herbs. Floral arrangements and tea blends that are foraged and sourced from local farmers.

Electrafy Essentials is a food mood board with plant-based food content and information that helps people understand what certain foods do.

Opening a space to provide consultancy and one on one sessions on plant-based eating and yoga.

As a brand Electrafy takes pride in providing safe products to beings looking to heal or dive into that holistic self-care. Introducing yoga and wellness into their lives and sharing space.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always a deep diver into astrology and metaphysics. I think my Scorpio moon and my curiosity has a huge influence on these subjects.

I always wanted to know what was in certain products or meals that I was putting on/in my body.

As a Taurus I love things that look good, smell good, feel good, I live through all of my senses.

I love having people around. I grew up with four brothers and a younger sister. I am the middle child as well so you know how that goes!

Always into fashion and comfortable clothing. Thrifting, and altering clothes into its own unique look. I was nominated for best dressed in high school, lol.

I crave movement, yoga, dance and exercise are huge in my life. I played basketball and track in high school so I loved being active. Being plant-based helps with energy!!
