Meet Roberto Carlos Lemus of Branding is Social Inc. in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Roberto Carlos Lemus.

Roberto Carlos, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
With 13 years of corporate experience at a Fortune 500 company, I decided to incorporate my own business with an inspiration of Marketing and Branding experiences for different industries and also to work together with socially and fiscally responsible foundations and organizations who are making a difference in our community.

Exquisitamente, a gastronomy division of Branding is Social Inc., was founded as a multimedia platform creating content for the gastronomy industry through digital campaigns, brand activations, consumer experiences, photoshoot tours, event coverage, social branding and the creation of media set lounges.

Exquisitamente serves as a support to the gastronomy industry and has worked together with numerous philanthropic causes such as the AltaMed Foundation for the last four years on their “AltaMed Food & Wine Festival” which takes place in Los Angeles and Orange County. Serving as consultants for AltaMed, Exquisitamente has brought on board over 80 local participating restaurants and in the past international celebrity chefs including MasterChef Latino season one winner Sindy Lazo, Ingrid Hoffmann, Ana Quincoces, Doreen Colondres, Hamlet Garcia and Katsuji Tanabe, curating a pairing of their delicious cuisine along with 50 wineries from many wine regions in the world such as Napa Valley, Mexico, Spain and Argentina.

Exquisitamente has also been a strategic partner of Sabor Latino Food Trade Show inside the Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo for the past four years, presenting their educational panels such as “Chef Talk: The Latin Influence” and the “Latino Food Symposium”, featuring a selected group of national Latino leaders as speakers from different fields connected with the food industry.

The future of the brand also includes the launch of Affluent Hispanic Philanthropies. A world-class foundation with innovating ways of giving for philanthropreneurs, where I serve as a founding member of the board of directors.

Affluent Hispanic Philanthropies is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in the United States for public and charitable purposes, founded in 2017 by a group of individuals that share common and genuine interests to support other non-profits and our community.

Our mission is to inspire, empower, and promote philanthropy by creating socially integrated platforms with positive values such as integrity, compassion, and altruism.

Our vision is to build foundation awareness and raise funds to improve the lives of communities through corporate donors, grants, philanthropic media outreach, leading celebrities, and high profile executives, in order to support high social impact projects through its own programs and in partnership with other charitable organizations national and international.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
As you can see I try to keep myself busy with different projects which I try to manage as much as possible. Time management has been a key to overcome the obstacles and challenges along the way, which include running into people that unfortunately do not have a good work ethic or values, which in the end can waste everyone’s time and effort. However they have become experiences that I value very much, as they give me knowledge on how to handle these situation in a smarter way.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Branding is Social Inc. – what should we know?
I’m mainly known for specializing in the gastronomy division of my company, Exquisitamente. I get to work with some amazing chefs and restaurateurs as well as production teams that put together some extravagant gastronomic experiences. Being able to personally connect and hear the success stories from personalities that have become friends gives me the drive to keep finding opportunities for them to shine.

Being able to bring together gastronomy and philanthropy is one of the things I’m most proud of in my company’s mission. Seeing how the gastronomy community comes together to help others in need makes me feel like we are accomplishing many things together for great charitable causes.

The level of execution in all the projects we work on is what sets us apart in our industry. With a tradition of excellence, we strive to offer our clients and our community a transparent and honest way of doing good business.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
The advice and values instilled in me by my family have played a huge role in my personal and professional development, as well as close friends and professional mentors throughout my life. However, since 2014, Jose Diaz Romero has become the person who has guided me on balancing my personal and professional responsibilities. The advice and loyalty I receive from him have also been influential in overcoming obstacles and struggles in my everyday life. Being able to spend my life together with him has helped me find the emotional balance needed to inspire myself to be a better person every day and to help others in need as much as possible. I appreciate everyone in my life who gives me good advice, and I strive to learn something new every day, which is one of the key factors of where I am today and what will lead me to success in the future.
