Meet Robear Landeros

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robear Landeros.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up in Compton, California wasn’t an easy task. Just cause you’re from the “hood” doesn’t mean you have to be of the hood. Cut to, now I have my salon in Beverly Hills. I have transformed the second floor of the Gavert Atelier Salon into my oasis which I call the PENTHOUSE. Hence why I titled this story “from the hood to the hills”. The moment I decided to do hair back in 1993, I said I was going to do celebrities. “I’m going to be famous & takeover Hollywood!!

Well, at least I accomplished 1 of those things (I do celebrities) lol. I’ve done every red carpet imaginable, from the Oscars & the Emmys to Grammys & MTV Music Awards. Pretty much every Hollywood award show, I’ve styled hair for them. Last year I was blessed to become the Head of the hair department for the Steve Harvey show. I then did hair for the Kelly Clarkson show. As of a few days ago, I started doing hair for The Real Talk Show. I also was just told I’ll be doing hair for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Talk about from the hood to the Hills. A full-circle moment! I don’t want to bore you with more name dropping. I am still glad that I can do my real celebrities, my clients who have & continue to support me in my 25 years career. Thank you to them! If you want to feel or look like a celebrity, come sit in my chair. My resume in a nutshell…….I’m ROBEAR & I do hair!!!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was not an easy journey. From being raped/molested as a child by a family member & others, To trying to commit suicide by taking my mom’s pills. Being bullied my entire life in school. From all the no’s I received in the industry, someone finally said yes & took a chance on me. My biggest obstacle was me & I can finally say I have overcome me & now I’m free. I succeed to prove all the naysayers wrong. I am more than a conqueror!

We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I pride myself on being able to achieve a total transformation on my client. I am a triple threat… CUT*COLOR*CREATE. When you enter our space, you’re treated to the Beverly Hills experience minus the pretentiousness.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m developing my product line which will fall under my ROBEAR/care brand. I’m also developing a salon fashion line which falls under my ROBEAR/wear brand. My educational master classes fall under my ROBEAR/share brand cause I’m “sharing” the knowledge. Any time I’m traveling the world for fashion weeks or shoots, you can follow the drop pin to my ROBEAR/their brand.
