Today we’d like to introduce you to Pres Sala.
Hi Pres, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born and raised near Lake Como, Italy, and looking back now, music was already part of my life long before I even deliberately chose it.
My grandfather loved guitar. More than being a guitarist, he was truly in love with music. Every now and then, he would sit me on his lap with his old acoustic guitar, hold chords with his left hand, and let me strum the strings. But every time he stood up and left the guitar unattended, I would flip it around and start hitting rhythms on the back instead.
It sounded good, and that’s when my family realised I had it in my veins.
At the age of 11, they asked me if I wanted to try playing drums. I remember that moment so clearly. My dad and I were driving home, and he looked at me and said: “Okay… if you’re going to do this, you have to take it seriously. You need to be all in.”
I think I took that a little too seriously.
Very quickly, drums became my entire world. There were periods in my teenage years where I practiced between 9 and 12 hours a day. Not because somebody forced me to — I genuinely loved it. I became obsessed with understanding music, groove, dynamics, touch, feel, emotion… all of it. It never felt like work to me. It felt like purpose.
Over time, that obsession slowly turned into a career that completely changed my life. By the age of 24, I had collaborated with over 100 artists internationally and contributed to more than 200 recording sessions across different genres and musical worlds. I was lucky enough to work with incredible musicians, Grammy-recognized artists, and creatives from all over the world.
One of my biggest dreams growing up was Los Angeles. I used to watch videos of legendary studios and imagine what it would feel like to walk into those rooms one day. That dream eventually pushed me to move from Italy to Hollywood to continue my studies at Musicians Institute.
Shortly after arriving, I recorded at Paramount Recording Studios for a major project called Voices produced by Four Dhanagom. I still remember that moment walking into the studio for the first time. It felt surreal. One of those moments where your inner child quietly says, “S***! We actually did it.”
From there, I had the opportunity to record and collaborate in many of the iconic studios I had admired since childhood, while also building relationships with brands I grew up respecting, including Paiste Cymbals, Roland, Vater Drumsticks, and Dynamic Beaters.
But interestingly, after reaching many of the goals I had spent my entire life chasing, I experienced a huge internal shift. I realized that achievement alone doesn’t automatically create fulfillment. I had reached dreams I once thought would complete me, and instead, it opened even bigger questions about purpose, identity, and impact.
That period pushed me deeper into mindfulness, neuroscience, emotional discipline, and understanding the human mind — studies that became incredibly important in helping me navigate both life and the intensity of the music industry.
Eventually, that journey led me to create SUPERNOVA, an AI and wellness company focused on helping people reconnect with clarity, confidence, and direction through technology, mentorship, mindfulness, and modern tools for personal growth.
Today, music is still at the center of my life. I continue recording, performing, collaborating internationally, and inspiring younger generations of musicians. But now, more than ever, I’m driven not only by success, but by impact — creating things that genuinely help people believe in themselves and move forward in life.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Never be afraid of dreaming bigger.
Growing up near Lake Como, Los Angeles felt like another planet. Recording in legendary studios, collaborating internationally, building relationships with major artists and brands — all of it seemed so far away that it almost felt irrational to even dream about it.
And then one day… it all came real.
I remember walking into Paramount Recording Studios for the first time and genuinely feeling like I was outside of my own body. For almost two weeks, I couldn’t fully process the fact that I had actually reached the dream I had been visualizing since I was a kid practicing drums alone for 12 hours a day.
But strangely, after that excitement passed, I went through one of the hardest emotional periods of my life.
It felt like somebody had removed the floor from underneath me. I had spent so many years climbing toward one giant dream that once I reached it, I suddenly had to face a completely different challenge: “Who am I beyond achievement?”
That realization changed everything for me.
Instead of staying comfortable, I decided to challenge myself again in the most uncomfortable way possible. I Entrepreneurship, AI — probably two of the furthest worlds imaginable from being a drummer growing up in an small
town in Italy.
But I’ve always believed. Believed there’s no such thing as a dream that’s “too big.” Very differently from what most of the people around me would suggest. But be aware not to cage yourself victim of your own beliefs and stories you like to tell yourself. — ask yourself: «Who passed me this concept in the first place?» «Is it really true?» .
That mindset pushed me toward creating SUPERNOVA — with the mission of helping over 1 billion people by combining AI, mindfulness, and neuroscience into one scalable system for human growth.
The vision is simple: in the future, everyone will carry an AI mentor in their pocket.
An intelligent system trained like a specialist in virtually any field — from psychology to finance, business, tech, organising your creativity, and peak daily performance — designed to guide people, accelerate learning, improve decision-making, and help them navigate life with more clarity and confidence — once again distinguishing signal from noise.
Built on my background in mindfulness and neuroscience studies through Oxford, SUPERNOVA is focused on creating AI that doesn’t replace human potential, but amplifies it.
And honestly, starting over as a beginner again after already achieving success in another field was humbling. Music gave me discipline, but entrepreneurship forced me to grow in completely different ways — leadership, emotional resilience, communication, long-term thinking, and learning how to handle uncertainty daily.
I think the biggest challenge for any ambitious person is understanding that reaching the dream is not the end of the story. Sometimes it’s actually the beginning of a completely new one.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
SUPERNOVA evolved from a realization that the world is changing faster than ever, and most people struggle not because they lack information, but because they can’t separate signal from noise.
Today, SUPERNOVA is an AI in wellness company focused on helping people think clearer, adapt faster, and navigate modern life through AI-assisted coaching, mindfulness & neuroscience tools.
I believe AI is one of the most powerful tools humanity has ever created, and instead of fearing it, we should learn how to use it intelligently to accelerate growth, learning, and human potential.
A lot of my entrepreneurial mindset actually came from jazz music. One of the most important concepts in jazz is learning how to comp with the changes. The harmony shifts constantly, and your job is to listen first.
In jazz, listening is often more important than playing.
That lesson applies perfectly to entrepreneurship and tech. Markets change. Industries evolve. Human behavior shifts. What we’re witnessing now with AI is a form of modern Darwinian selection — the people and companies who survive are the ones able to adapt the fastest.
That philosophy became the foundation of SUPERNOVA.
One of my long-term goals is to impact over a billion people by helping them evolve with the future instead of being overwhelmed by it. We’re currently building the Supernova Center, an AI-assisted platform designed to provide modern guidance, clarity, and tools for growth in a rapidly changing world.
We also recently released our first book, Stop Overthinking: A Journal to Think Less, Create More & Detox Your Mind, which reflects a huge part of the company philosophy.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Music has been one of the greatest teachers of life for me, so many of the people and resources that shaped me come from both the artistic and entrepreneurial worlds.
As a drummer, two mentors who deeply impacted my growth were my Maestro Francesco Mazza and Tim McIntyre. Beyond technique, they taught me discipline, professionalism, musicality, and one of the most important lessons in life: learning how to truly listen.
I’m also incredibly grateful for the support and inspiration from companies and partners I grew up admiring, including Paiste Cymbals, Vater Drumsticks, Roland, and Dynamic Beaters.
Outside of music, I’m obviously an entrepreneur in love with AI, Tech & My company’s mission to help +1 billion people through Supernova and with the help of an amazing growing team. People like Robert Herjavec, Mark Cuban, and Peter Tuchman really inspired the way I think about adaptability, dealing with the ghosts of such a quantum leap, leadership, and the where the future actually lies.
One institution that genuinely changed my life was the University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre. My studies there completely shifted the way I approach stress, emotional discipline, awareness, and performance — not only as a musician, but as a human being and now entrepreneur.
Books also had a massive impact on me. The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle and Metahuman by Deepak Chopra were both transformative in different ways. Bob Proctor’s seminars also deeply influenced my mindset regarding ambition, belief systems, and the psychology behind growth and success.
And my greatest inspiration. My wife, obviously.. Watching her dedication, discipline, creativity, and resilience as MD & Dentist and world renowned Artist has been incredibly motivating for me both personally and professionally.
The people around us shape the size of the life we allow ourselves to dream about.
