Meet Orna Walters And Matthew Walters of Creating Love On Purpose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Orna Walters And Matthew Walters.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Orna is a native Los Angeleno, her immigrant parents came to Los Angeles in the early 60s. She is a graduate of UCLA, Theatre Film and Television (1988). Matthew is a midwestern man, born and raised in Kansas City, MO. He earned his BA in theatre at Missouri State University (1990) and made his way to sunny SoCal shortly after graduation.

Both Orna and Matthew worked in the entertainment industry, Orna in the music and film biz, and Matthew mostly in voice over as an artist, casting director, and teacher. They both left entertainment for careers in personal growth in the early 2000s, leading them to meet through a local business networking group.

As the founders of Creating Love On Purpose® Orna and Matthew are upfront about having been disasters in their love lives before individually figuring things out. Once they broke their own negative patterns in love, they reverse engineered the steps they each took, added unique elements from their own toolboxes, and committed to sharing their Soulmating System™ with the world.

Orna and Matthew hosted and produced a wildly popular online interview series for several years titled: The Love On Purpose Revolution® interviewing all the top experts in love, dating, sex, intimacy, and romantic partnership. Currently they offer virtual and in-person retreats, workshops, as well as private coaching. Their book, GETTING IT RIGHT THIS TIME: Break Free from Your Hidden Blocks to Lasting Love (Penguin Random House 2025) is their life’s work in a book, walking the reader through healing their heart to find their forever person. As holistic dating coaches, The Walters’ mission is to bust the myth of Love by Accident.

Orna and Matthew love the city of Los Angeles and can’t imagine residing anywhere else. They often bike and hike throughout the city, and sail in Santa Monica Bay during their leisure time. The Walters also grow food in a community garden in Mar Vista which led them to create the motto, “The couple that gardens together, stays together.”

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At the start of Creating Love On Purpose® we hosted an in-person workshop and had a hard time filling it. That prompted us to leverage the internet and conference lines to host events more quickly and with less upfront costs (this was long before Zoom existed). After a couple of years we missed working with clients IRL so we created a 3-day event as well as hosting retreats. Mixing and matching both online and offline ever since, despite the pause during the pandemic. We’re to back to more in-person events especially with the promotion of GETTING IT RIGHT THIS TIME.

The challenge we regularly face is getting people to think differently about love and dating. We work with the whole person, and in our Soulmating System™ we don’t begin with dating. Instead, we start by assessing the client: their beliefs, their strategies, what’s working for them, and what’s keeping them from the goal of sharing their life with an ideal partner.
If someone believes that love comes down to luck, it’s easier to turn them into a lucky person, than to convince them that luck has nothing to do with love. There’s no higher power dolling out love to some people and not others. Love operates under the same universal laws as everything else.

In 2020 when the world shut down and no one was dating, we focused on our book proposal and what would become GETTING IT RIGHT THIS TIME. Our efforts paid off with a wonderful literary agent and a publishing deal.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Creating Love On Purpose?
Our business is Creating Love On Purpose®. As holistic dating coaches our clients are singles who desire a lifelong partner. We’re known for busting the myths of accidental love, the romantic fantasies that create unrealistic expectations and leave people feeling powerless in their love lives. We specialize in helping our clients reclaim their power over their love lives, so they can break the pattern of toxic, abusive, and unfulfilling relationships.

We work with the whole person, guiding them to become the best version of themselves. We work in three phases to create a lasting transformation: Awareness, Transformation, and Manifestation. First the client becomes aware of their strategies and patterns that aren’t working for them. Then we facilitate an inner transformation using our Walters’ Method processes which transforms their limiting beliefs about love, heal their hearts and reclaim their power. Now they’re ready to create the vision of their ideal relationship and manifest it through intentional action.

We coined the phrase, Your Love Imprint®, to describe the unconscious belief systems, emotional patterns, and behavioral strategies for giving and receiving love that are formed in early childhood. This subconscious program becomes an internal GPS for love keeping a person stuck in a pattern of unsuccessful relationships. When our client has an internal shift their outer world experience changes. The filter through which they find someone attractive cannot go backwards to the old pattern as they are forever changed.

We wrote GETTING IT RIGHT THIS TIME so more people have access to this transformational journey. The book helps us reach millions of people who needlessly struggle to find an ideal mate.

The best business advice we have is to do something you’re passionate about and select one way to be of service that you will stay consistent at. We have put out our newsletter, Love Notes Weekly, every single Monday since 2009 and we are very proud of this fact. Our free newsletter is sent to tens of thousands of subscribers each week. Consistency is the key to success.
