Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Fort.
Hi Noah, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started martial arts at four years old with my father in a small farm town called Hollister, CA. In my career, now spanning over 16 years, competition has been a big part of the journey. Starting at local tournaments in the bay area, I began learning what it takes to win, and how to learn from the losses. Tremendous coaching and work with my father in the grass on our front lawn allowed him and I to elevate our competition to the state level. Working as a team, we made names for ourselves in the California circuits and got opportunities to perform with the world-famous “World Action Team” all over the United States. With time and considerable amounts of blood, sweat and tears, I finally qualified to compete at my first World Championship tournament. I was 12 years old and ready to make my dad and hometown proud. After a weekend of fierce competition, me and my dad were fist-bumping each other with our first World Champion rings. This was the precursor of a streak of over 30 more world champion wins, viral videos, TV/News appearances, and a Guinness World Record that were to come. I attribute my success to the consistent work towards my defined goals, calculated risk taking, and my father who instilled in me and reinforced these values. These values are still the basis for the competition, stunts, film, and content creation that I do today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Although my career seems to pick up in a very sequential way, the process was not quite as smooth as it may appear. As a child and adolescent, it can be very easy to lose sight of a long-term goal and want to pursue the most new, exciting thing in front of you. It takes an incredible amount of discipline to focus your thought and energy into something you may have lost passion for. The process of working in the absence of passion can be very monotonous, but that feeling of breaking through and rediscovering your love for it is far more impactful.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a professional martial artist and instructor with a specialty in “extreme sport martial arts”. This is a martial art that focuses on implementing the most risky and flashy moves possible to demonstrate high levels of coordination and advanced kicking, tricking, and weapons skills. I am known for my skills with a bo staff, a long wooden weapon dating back to ancient Japan, which is what I won many of my world championships with, as well as my Guinness World Record. Some of my signature tricks with the weapon and my entire style as a competitor originated from me and my father innovating together in our training, whereas most others took classes from already established competitors.
Any big plans?
In the future, I plan to continue in my training and explore the different facets in which I can bring new, exciting, and innovative content to my fans and followers. I intend to continue in the path of social media, film, stunts, and live performances and improve myself physically, mentally, and spiritually with each day that goes by. As a martial arts instructor, I also want to reach more people who are seeking to improve their lives and help them reach their next level of mental and physical fortitude.
