Today we’d like to introduce you to Niko Garcia.
Hi Niko, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey with Self Inflicted Fest started through music as the co-founder of the alternative metal band Breaking Serenity, which began as an outlet for personal storytelling, emotion, and connection during some of the hardest periods of my life. What started as a creative escape eventually expanded into larger opportunities for both myself and others, leading to the creation of Breaking Serenity Promotions, Self Inflicted Productions, and now Attack Entertainment.
Through collaboration, consistency, and grassroots networking, I’ve been able to make significant progress within the Southern California music scene in under three years organizing and promoting everything from local showcases to mini-festival style events alongside partners like Youngblood Productions and many other collaborators.
Along the way, I’ve worked with incredible artists, venues, production teams, and radio personalities like Mike Z, all of which helped shape and expand the vision behind Self Inflicted Fest.
At its core, my focus has always remained the same: creating opportunities, building community, and bringing people together through music, creativity, and collaboration. Self Inflicted Fest continues to grow, with its next return taking place June 14 at Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, California hosted by Mike Z of 967 Kcal Rocks.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We live in an extremely intense and divisive time socially, politically, and creatively, where expressing yourself authentically can sometimes come with criticism, pressure, or resistance especially within the entertainment industry. One thing I’ve learned throughout this journey is the importance of developing thick skin, staying focused, and continuing to move forward regardless of obstacles or outside opinions.
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but at this point I’ve become accustomed to the obstacles honestly, overcoming challenges has become part of what I do. Once you learn how to embrace adversity and turn difficult situations into motivation or opportunity, you start to appreciate the dark days because they shape your resilience, creativity, and perspective and perception
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
To add a little humor and an inside joke for people who know me, I usually say I specialize in “figuring it out” because a huge part of what I do has been built through adaptability, problem solving, and learning through experience.
What I’m most proud of is building platforms and opportunities not only for myself, but for other artists and creatives around me. Watching ideas grow from nothing into real events, collaborations, and communities has been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.
What sets me apart most is probably my ability to remain underestimated. I’ve learned how to turn doubt, pressure, obstacles, and limitations into motivation. I take pride in perseverance, vision, and the ability to adapt under almost any circumstance. I also genuinely enjoy motivating others, bringing people together, and helping them believe bigger in themselves and their potential.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to be careful who you build up and invest your energy into. Not everyone who stands beside you during growth is meant to grow with you long term. Protecting your energy, time, and vision is extremely important, especially in creative and entertainment environments where emotions, pressure, and ambition can run high.
I’ve learned to invest in people wisely, keep my circle tight, and value friendships, consistency, and genuine intent over surface-level support. At the same time, I’ve also learned that every difficult experience even betrayal, disappointment, or setbacks can teach you something valuable if you allow it to strengthen rather than discourage you. Thrive in the chaos and conquer all.
