Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Walsh.
Hi Natalie, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I’m the daughter of two immigrants. My mom is from Ecuador and my dad from Ireland. I’m the first person in my family to be born in the US. I’m one of four- one sister and two brothers. My family and I are very, very close. Life has taken us in many directions and all over the globe but we are so lucky to now all be back in the Southbay together again.
I grew up watching my parents strive towards their aspirations and I’ve completely followed in their footsteps. My parents own a concrete construction business called Walsh Construction and have invested and own lots of real estate in the South Bay. I am a Realtor and I truly couldn’t have chosen a better career for myself. I love helping people and I love business. The look on my client’s faces when we have secured their dream home or investment is priceless to me. Those moments that I am fortunate to be a part of our life-changing for them. I understand the severity and delicate nature involved and will do my absolute best to go above and beyond for them before, during, and after our deal.
Many of my clients have become close friends and receiving referrals from them is the best compliment they could ever give me. I am a very thoughtful persona and this business requires one to think deeply and always think ahead- whether it’s your client’s needs, negotiation tactics or how to create an alliance with all parties involved. One of my favorite quotes is.
“If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.” Everything in business and life requires teamwork and selflessness. That single characteristic has gotten me far in life. This is only the beginning for me and will continue to grow my business and help as many people as I can along the way.
I first got into real estate working for an incredible man named Brett Zebrowski. He’s the owner and broker of Palm Realty Boutique where I hang my license now. He took a chance on me and took me under his wing. I cold called him one afternoon. I didn’t even have my real estate license at the time. I asked him for a job any job, as long as I could work near him and learn what he does every day. He taught me everything I know. The importance of details, he taught me how rare honesty is and he taught me to show up everyday even if I had no deals going on, that daily actions would get me there eventually. I am very grateful for his mentorship.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Wow, in real estate, it’s ANYTHING but a smooth road. But my personality thrives in the unknown. I love the thought that anything is possible and that everything is working out exactly as it should. My mom taught me from a young age to not force things. She showed me the importance to move on if things are not working out. Try something else, figure out an alternative but don’t force anything, it’s not working out for a reason. In real estate, the struggle is real, obstacles are to be expected.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Yes! I’m a massive sucker for books and especially podcasts. How lucky are we to get a front seat to so many brilliant minds in all industries. Any free time I have, while I’m getting ready in the morning, driving to showings, cooking- I will always have a podcast on. Some of my favorites are Joe Rogan I’m an original Joe Rogan listener back to 2015 and as cheesy as it sounds he changed my life. I love Bigger Pockets, The Huberman Lab, Stuff You Should Know, Breaking Points, NPR’s How I Built This, Jordan Peterson, Lex Friedman, Lewis Howes.
