Today we’d like to introduce you to Miya Wynn.
Miya, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started TGH at the age of 23 as a small online boutique shop catered to every woman. Soon after that, we found our Brand focus, we switched our products and logo’s it soon was clear we became the “Grunge Streetwear” Brand we inspired to be. As a teen, I have had a long love for the rockstar lifestyle, music and overall vibe of the Alternative. After redirecting our brand to something we were actually passionate about, we were able to generate $15,000 in sales and over 400 orders in the span of three months. We are now on a clear path with a running PR team that is helping us become the best Streetwear designer brand possible. Our mission is to spread confidence and build fashion freedom, we are here to break those society bonds that tell you “you have to wear” what others want. We are here to say you don’t! Fashion has no rules or regulations. From the very beginning of our journey, we have committed ourselves to keeping to our core values and always giving our heart in every piece we drop for our house guests.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
We have had minor shipping issues due to COVID-19 and USPS being unable to manage the amount of packages coming in and out. We have started providing Local Delivery options for those in the Los Angeles County who would like to skip the wait. During this pandemic our brand as experienced up and downs due to unemployment, US Official Mailing services, and overall figuring out the best marketing strategy to beat this pandemic recession.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Tha Girl House – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We are TGH, Tha Girl House a Grunge Streetwear brand best known for our “Interesting” take on Streetwear. As a company, we are most proud of our AW20 collection we spent months developing it to be sure we were putting out the very best products we had to offer, even going as far as to personally customize the pieces to be significantly unique.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We plan to finish our year out with a natural vegan skincare line and have our children’s line up and selling by 2021. We are extremely grateful for every person who supported our women-led black-owned business. We plan to do everything in the future to show our gratitude.
