Meet Michelle Freeman of San Dimas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Freeman.

Hi Michelle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Immortal Masks started in my garage. My husband, Andrew is the founder of the company. We stayed a garage business for about 2 years and then moved into our first official building. I first became a more official member of the business in the office and shortly after George Frangadakis became the third owner. As a trio we were able to grow the business significantly over the next few years. We all have a passion for masks and the entertainment industry we are a part of. We are always trying to push our designs to be the best and think of ways of innovating the silicone mask industry. Andrew is the artistic force behind our amazing designs, George is the face of Immortal Masks are the head sales person and I am the behind the scenes person, running everyday stuff and taking care of the employees. We’ve been here for almost 15 years and hope to keep pushing the boundaries of what a silicone masks can do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think any business can say the road has been smooth. As with anything, we’ve learned a lot about managing people and the business that we are in. There will always be bumps in the road, it’s how we learn to navigate them that will determine how we do as a business. We’ve had the same struggles that any business has. Learning to deal with employees and learning to deal with each other! We are human and have the same problems any person will have. There have been a lot of fun times had here and we can’t wait to have even more!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’ll answer this one for Andrew. He is a sculptor and lead artist here at immortal. He is known for his innovative designs and being able to push what silicone can do. We’ve been through so much with silicone we consider ourselves experts in the field. We can trouble shoot most issues that can arrive with silicone. He is most proud of where this business has grown in to. Having started it from our garage and now into a business with 20 employees and being able to work with amazing artist, it’s an accomplishment he is very proud of. Our designs and desire to always come out with new stuff that sets us a part from others.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Andrew has always been an artist. He was a bit of a trouble maker in high school. He was always known as an artist. He was raised in Glendora and we still currently live there. His parents have always been very supportive of his art.
