Meet Meghan Hall of M. Street Art in Silverlake

Today we’d like to introduce you to Meghan Hall.

Meghan (Artist name: ‘M.’) grew up in Southwest Virginia. At 2 years old, Meghan started creating doodle drawings that ultimately would lead to more in-depth designs that would take a life of their own. Meghan is self-taught and for 25 years she has become a pop-noir artist of the generation that emerged in the wake of the influence of Keith Haring, Retna, Sheppard Fairy, Banksy, Frida, Invader, and Basquiat.

M’s rise in the street art world began 6 years ago when she anonymously started tagging alleyways and walls across Los Angeles. It wasn’t until a year ago (2017) that Jeff Hamilton (Fashion Designer), who in turn gave her a platform to draw freely for the public to experience, discovered her work.

In the midst of the street art world, Meghan has also spent 4 years developing a raw documentary series covering the rise of the cannabis industry across the World. Her passion in the cannabis space is driven by her mother, who has undergone 2 massive back surgeries and is on the road to recovery using CBD. The focus on her mother opened up a rabbit hole of thousands of cannabis stories and companies who have now connected with Meghan and are supporting her efforts along with her street art.

What you are witnessing now is an artist who has been given the support and platform to define herself not only by her own standards but to help combat a message of hope in a seemingly corrupt world. Her lines are a gateway into her unique world – a world that embraces the unknown and accepts everyone unconditionally.
…. A rebel with a cause.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
– Finding time between filming to create artwork that inspires those that see my work.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with M. Street Art – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I’m a film maker by day and a street artist by night – I’m proud of that.

My nickname is “the female keith haring” (that in itself is a huge honor)

I’m represented by Moby Arts – who are a fine art print house that focuses on bringing ground-breaking artists and charities together for worthy causes – I’m proud of that.

I have over 1,000 cannabis companies who I’m working with specifically in regards to my street art to create collaborations with their new products (branding) and my artwork – this has never been done before at this level, and it’s an honor to be a part of it. Street Art and Cannabis uniting on a professional level – creating a new platform for both to shine, and ultimately…. opening the doors for full legalization across the World.

I’m only just getting started…..

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
– Street Art collaborations with various cannabis companies.

– Creating more artwork across the world (street and gallery/fashion)

– We are in a very political climate – what a gift to be a street artist today and create works of art that inspire and encourage people to be the best version of themselves, to “stay woke”, to remind them that there is always hope, and that love always wins….

– I’m planning on live drawing and donating my artwork to various charity organizations and events  (Check out: Equal Means Equal)

– M. clothing line (jackets, pants, shoes…..)
