Today we’d like to introduce you to Magaly Eyraud
Hi Magaly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
How I started my business as a veil designer wasn’t something I ever thought about.
At a young age I’ve always a a passion to draw. I would try to replicate designs which lead to drawing clothes and fell in love with fashion. I bought my first sewing machine at the age of 18 and made myself tops, purses etc. I always knew my heart was in art. Creating things was what I lived for, Ive been a diy gal all my life. My first memory of getting into the wedding industry was when my sister was getting married. I went to all her bridal fittings looking for dresses in her price range and veils everything was overpriced, although I was no dress designer I told her “I think I can make your veil”. I absolutely had no experience with that but I set my mind into creating her a wedding gift. I bought the materials I needed and hand sewed that veil no machine just a needle and thread! She fell in love with it and that opened my vision into helping brides have their dream veil without overpaying! I didn’t mean to start a business out a a gift, but once friends and family noticed my work I was getting asked to do theirs. Seeing their faces when I hand them their veils is what opened my vision into my business today. .
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been an easy road. We are constantly getting beat and overseen by bigger companies. As I don’t produce quantity, I give quality and sometimes it’s not enough. Social media has been a big platform for growing your business and as a small business owner the algorithm won’t always help you get seen. I’ve done this for 10 years now and I’m honestly still here because of my brides that have and continue to place their custom orders they see me!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Most of my brides know me for serving quality over quantity but never overpriced! I’m known for giving brides a custom expensive which includes a custom sketch and their personal designer! I specialize in unique requests that’s where my creativity thrives.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My brides, friends and family are my supporters. Every purchase every shoutout every repost I consider them supporters. I would like to say I had one special lady that believed in me and never doubted me even when I wanted to give up! She now lays in heaven but I won’t ever forget the impact she had in my dreams.
