Hi Lori, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I chose early retirement from my career in human resources to purchase this business just as COVID began. Although it was a significant risk during an uncertain time, it has been incredibly rewarding. I’ve had the opportunity to serve my community while putting in the work to help an existing business grow and thrive.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as a business owner was navigating the impact of COVID—dealing with supply chain disruptions, warehouse shutdowns, constant price increases, and adapting to new regulations and requirements for restaurants

Sol Bol Açaí is a locally owned, community-driven açaí shop in Visalia known for its fully customizable bowls, smoothies, and handcrafted panini options, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free choices available. We focus on organic, high-quality ingredients and a “build-it-your-way” experience that lets every customer create something that fits exactly what they’re craving—whether that’s indulgent, refreshing, or nourishing. What sets us apart is the balance between quality and personalization, along with a welcoming, upbeat environment that keeps people coming back. As a brand, we’re most proud of creating a space that feels consistent, fresh, and community-focused, where customers know they’ll get both great food and a positive experience every time.

Looking ahead, our focus is on continuing to grow Sol Bol Açaí as a go-to destination in Visalia for fresh, customizable, and high-quality açaí bowls and smoothies, while also expanding awareness of our full food offerings like panini sandwiches. We’re excited about strengthening our presence in the community, introducing new seasonal items, and refining our menu based on what our customers love most. Long-term, we’re always exploring ways to improve the customer experience—whether that’s through new flavors, more efficient service, or potential expansion opportunities—while staying true to what makes us special: fresh ingredients, customization, and a welcoming, community-centered environment.
