Meet Leslie Medina of Sensational Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Medina.

Hi Leslie , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always known I wanted to be a business owner. I’ve had a lot of different passions over the years, but the one that’s always stayed with me is health and wellness.

Before all of this, I spent about eight years working as a server in different restaurants. During that time, I tried starting a few small businesses, but nothing really stuck. It wasn’t until I came across body sculpting that something finally clicked. Once I learned more about it, I just knew—it felt aligned with me and something I truly believed in.

I went and got certified, but I didn’t have a lot of money to start. So I made it work with what I had. I started my business right out of my room. I literally put up a foldable wall to separate my bed from a small area for clients. I made sure it was clean, comfortable, and as professional as I could make it.

That first year… it was slow. I made less than $10,000. Some months I had one client, and some months I had none at all. But I didn’t quit.

Eventually, things started to shift. I built enough momentum to move out of my room and into my own space just five minutes from home. Now I’m serving around 20–30 clients, and it still feels surreal sometimes.

I used to dream about days like this… and now I’m actually living in them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business is definitely not for the weak. I think one of the biggest challenges for me has been patience. That’s something I’ve always struggled with. I hate the beginning stages of learning something new—I always want to be good at it right away, or even perfect.

There were times I would get really anxious, even to the point of anxiety attacks, questioning if I was wasting my time or if what I was building was even real. But honestly, what kept me going were my clients—the ones who believed in me and the feedback they gave me. That’s what pushed me to keep showing up.

We’ve been impressed with Sensational Wellness, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sensational Wellness is rooted in lymphatic drainage, but it’s grown into so much more than just body sculpting. I’ve incorporated techniques like Brazilian lymphatic massage, ice therapy, fat cavitation, and post-op recovery—but that’s really just the surface of what I offer.

Over time, this space has become a staple in a lot of my clients’ lives. I’ve been able to help people find balance in so many areas—hormones, blood pressure, weight management, energy levels, even sleep. And I’ve also been able to pour in my own knowledge and passion for overall wellness into every session.

I think what makes Sensational Wellness truly special is that it’s not just a place to come and reset physically—it’s a place where people can reconnect spiritually too. I’ve had clients tell me they feel a beautiful energy in the room, or that it’s easier for them to connect with God during their time here.

For a lot of my clients, their appointments are the only time they get to step away from everything. And being able to provide that kind of space—to be a place where they can feel grounded, safe, and restored—is something I don’t take lightly at all. It’s truly an honor.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Most of my clients always ask me if I get tired or how I’m able to keep up with everything, especially with my small frame. And I always tell them—I really live and breathe what I do. I practice healthy living, I stay active, and I take care of myself as best as I can so I can show up fully, present, and well for my clients.
