Today we’d like to introduce you to Leslie Close.

Leslie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I help property owners transform their home or estate into a truly elegant and serene oasis that is balanced and organically designed. My name is Leslie Close, CEO of Close Design based in Los Angeles’ and I want to work in partnership with you to help your listing stand out to close the sale.

I was born in SD of a multi-cultural Philipina and Japanese origin. My design work embodies a balanced esthetic of masculine and feminine elements based on the Feng Shui principles I’ve studied for decades. I knew from early on that one day, I would create ultimate living spaces of timeless refinement for others. My signature touchpoints of clean, organically designed interiors, with carefully curated furnishings, create serene living spaces that have the elegant laid back vibe. I’ve turned that dream into reality and I’d like to share it with you.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
No, I’d be lying if I said yes. It was tough to get to where I am now. It took long hours of education and then planning what firm to work for after graduating college. It took me a year six months to land a corporate job after graduating college. Then I had to move NYC for three years to work at The Switzer group a corporate firm that specialized in architecture and interior design for some of the largest big name company headquarters in the east coast. It was long hours proving my self to the firm and to my colleagues. The struggle was to adapt to climbing the corporate ladder and to my surroundings. and eventually it was all worth it to me at the end.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Close Design LLC – what should we know?
Close Design specializes in celebrity residential design grounded in the essence of southern California living: nature, the natural source from which all else springs, and the serenity arising from it. Our clients’ homes become their peaceful oasis and sanctuary to balance their intense and demanding lifestyles, whether tucked away in a canyon or atop a bluff with beautiful ocean vistas. I also like to add Feng Shui into my designs that I do because it adds so much value and wellness to the space.

I am very proud of our Florida Project that we have currently been working on for the past two years building this residential beachfront home has been so rewarding in so many ways. This homes layout is meant to bring into the home good energy throughout the residents. I also would like to add we specified LEED qualified materials for the buildout which means it is eco friendly.

Close Design’s core value is “Beauty is Integrity.”

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
Absolutely… I have my team throughout the west coast and east coast. I have many friends in the industry that have given me great advice and I always love working with like-minded people… we are only as good as our clients is what I like to think. I have had the honor to work with some really talented professors such as architect Ojay Pagano and interior designer Jessica Newman. On the most recent adventure, I had the pleasure of working with architect Jeffrey Silberstain. There are so many people that played a big roll in my life and I’m forever grateful for them. Most importantly, my loving and supportive husband.
