Hi Laiba, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey as a makeup artist by becoming known as the “makeup girl” within my circle of friends and community due to my passion and skill. This passion eventually led me to work at Lancôme, where I gained valuable professional experience. While balancing school and various sales jobs, the stress of my hectic schedule became overwhelming, leading to a breaking point. It was during this time that my dad suggested I transform his workspace into a studio. Embracing this opportunity, I began professionally offering makeup services for special occasions, and through dedication and word of mouth, I eventually advanced to specialize in bridal makeup, where I truly found my niche. I then was able to have hair stylists work with me to create the most beautiful looks for our clients

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey hasn’t been without its challenges. In the beginning, it was nerve-wracking to handle someone’s special day, knowing how much it meant to them and wanting to deliver perfection. I quickly realized that each client is unique, with their own personality, preferences, and expectations. Through feedback and experience, I learned to adapt and truly connect with the person sitting in my chair. My passion for serving others grew as I focused on understanding not just their makeup needs, but also who they are as individuals. This approach allowed me to improve my craft and build meaningful connections, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.

I am a professional makeup artist specializing in special occasion and bridal makeup/hair. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with my clients on a personal level, ensuring that the look I create not only enhances their natural beauty but also reflects their individuality. I pride myself on understanding my clients’ needs, preferences, and unique personalities, which allows me to deliver a tailored and memorable experience. I am most proud of the trust my clients place in me, especially for some of the most important days of their lives. My work is known for its flawless finishes and attention to detail, and I believe my passion for artistry and dedication to service make me stand out in this industry.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe the most important quality for my success is adaptability. Working in the beauty industry requires understanding and connecting with a diverse range of clients, each with their own preferences, personalities, and expectations. Being adaptable allows me to tailor my approach to meet their unique needs while staying calm and professional under pressure. This flexibility, combined with my passion for creating a positive and memorable experience for each client, has been key to building trust and lasting relationships in my career.
